Auckland.— l3th April last, on warrant for theft of £1 15s. 10d., the property of his employers, R. and W. Hellaby, butchers, Takapuna, Arthur P. Ralph, age about twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 6 in., butcher, strong build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, broad face, mole on left cheek. There are other charges pending.

Auckland,— 9th April last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paying Bs. fine and costs for drunkenness, Edward Lawson, alias Rigby, alias Wilson, alias Redhead, age twenty-seven, height sft. Bin., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on left side of nose and on left thumb, several moles on chest and under left eye. Accused obtained two bottles of whisky and £4 7s. 9d. in cash from Thomas Stephen McGuire, hotelkeeper, by means of a valueless cheque for £l6 95., drawn on the National Bank of Mew Zealand, Feilding. He is supposed to be identical with T. Penthorp, alias T. P. Simpson, alias Bassett, referred to in Police Gazette, 1915, page 415, with Harold Howell, referred to in Police Gazette, 1915, page 432, and with P. Walsh, alias Jenkins. Feilding. —l4th instant, on warrant for false pretences, P. Walsh, alias Jenkins, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of England, strong build, dark hair and complexion. Accused obtained goods and cash to the value of £6 Bs. by means of a valueless cheque on the Bank of New Zealand, Bull’s. He also borrowed a blank cheque, No. 38319, on the Bank of New Zealand, Bull’s, with which he may attempt to obtain money. He may endeavour to leave the Dominion. Complainant, Ethel Harman, Gonville.

Dannevirke. —15th instant, that a summons may be served upon him for a breach of his prohibition order, Arthur Carrington, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. 10in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, auburn hair, grey eyes, thick nose, left leg stiff; impediment in speech.
