ABSENTEE FROM HIS MAJESTY’S SERVICE.
From the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Upper Hutt, —28th ultimo, from the Trentham (lamp, David James Thomas, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of Wales, strong build, florid complexion, dark hair turning grey, dark-brown eyes, large scar under chin, tip of right forefinger missing ; usually dressed in a light-blue rough-serge suit, brown overcoat, hard hat, soft check shirt, and navy-blue tie, nearly all of which are marked ‘‘Herb Price.” He took with him £62 9s. 4d., which he in his capacity as clerk should have handed over to the camp paymaster. This latter charge will be preferred against him by the military authorities.
