Ponsonby. —Between the 16th and 19th ultimo, from Sentinal Road Bay, the property of JOHN CHARLES CARROLL, soiicitor, an 18 ft. rowing-boat, 5 ft. 6 in. beam, centre-board, white with red bottom, blue band near top ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Purse value 7s. 6d and identifiable. Suspicion is attached to A. Kirby (name probably fictitious), age about twentyfive, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, dark complexion, olean-shaved, dressed in brown clothes.

Papakura.- RICHARD WHITLEY’S dwelling robbed: The suspect, Joseph Wilson, has been arrested by the Auckland police. He is identical with James Williams, referred to in Police Gazette, 1912, page 609, and Photographs, 1912, page 61. (See Police (Gazette, 1915, pages 329 and 361.)

Feilding. —Between 10.30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the Ist instant the dwelling of FREDERICK HOWE, labourer, Awahuri, was broken into, and the following articles stolen : Sis £1 notes ; about ss. in threepenny-pieces and coppers ; and a gentleman’s silver curb watch-chain, with an Australian sixpence attached: total value, £6 15s. Palmerston North. —20th ultimo, from a bedroom at the Post-Office Hotel, the property of LAURA SMITH, cook, a lady’s 18 ct. gold half-hunting watch, No. 170151 ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Porangahau. —On or about the 11th ultimo, from a bedroom at the Wimbledon Hotel, the property of JOHN GORGENSEN, driver, two £lO Bank of New Zealand notes, eleven £1 notes (some of them Bank of New Zealand), and 6s. in silver. Notes not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to William Freeman, alias Harry Swanson, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair hair and complexion, “Love” and “ Rhodda ”on left forearm ; dirty appearance.
