PROPERTY STOLEN.

Maungaturoto. —l9th March last, from the person of JOHN JAMES ROACHE, labourer, Auckland, a £1 note and 12s. in silver. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Hugh Julian, age about nineteen, height 5 ft. 9 in., farmer and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes. Maungaturoto. —Between 8 a.m. and 12 noon on the 20th March last the dwelling of WALTER JOSEPH CAMPBELL, labourer, Public Works Department, was broken into, and the following articles stolen : A hollowground Bengal razor, with ticket on case with “Jensen, Victoria Street, Auckland,” on it; a soft white shirt with black stripes ; and two sticks of tobacco : total value, 18s sd. Identifiable except tobacco. Suspicion is attached to Hugh Julian, referred to in preceding paragraph.

Ponsonby.— On or about the 7th ultimo, from Cox’s Creek, the property of LAMBERT ANDERSON, labourer, 81 Lincoln Street, Ponsonby, a 22 ft. yacht, 7 ft. beam, flat bottom, centre-board, Oregon-pine mast, name “ Tui ” on cabin ; value, £3O. Identifiable.

Auckland. 27th ultimo, MESSRS. GREY BROS.’ bakery in Grey Street was broken into, and £240 in cash stolen therefrom. The cash was made up as follows : One hundred and sixty £1 notes, £4O in sovereigns and halfsovereigns, and £4O in silver.

Papakura. —Between 7.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the 26th ultimo the dwelling of RICHARD WHITLEY, farm labourer, was broken into, and the following articles stolen : A blue-serge suit, left leg of trousers has been torn; an open-face silver watch, with maker’s name“Kirkman and Dennison” on face; a silver double-case watch (eight-day), no glass ; a small muff-chain with trinket at each end, similar to illustration No. 35 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 3 ; a Bengal razor in red case, with “ D. W.” on case and handle of razor; a brown-tweed overcoat, top button missing; a fawn-beaver hat; a soft shirt with a blue stripe ; and four or five collars, with “George Fowlds, Ltd.” on inside: total value, £ll. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Joseph yp ilson, a:e thirty, height 5 ft. sin., ex-jockev, supposed native of Australia, medium build ; usually dressed in dark clothes and hard hat.

Waitara.— l2th March last, from a shed near complainant’s residence, the property of CHARLES R. STEAD, solicitor, an 8 ft. by 10 ft. tent, fly 13 ft. by 10 ft., marked at one end “ 375. 6d.” in indelible pencil; a pair of blucher boots; an old brown-striped suit; a pair of grey-and-black-striped trousers ; and an old white-linen hat : total value, £2. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to John Donetz, aga forty-four, height 5 ft. 0J in., labourer, native of Germany, medium build, swarthy complexion, brown hair and eyes ; usually associates with Maoris. Wellington. —3lst March last, from the dwelling o JANET RENNER, Hinan Road, Hataitai, a lady’s gold open-faced keyless watch, “ J. Renner” inside case; value, £5. Identifiable.

Wellington.— 2sth March last, from a bedroom at the Union Dining-rooms, Courtenay Place, the property of WILLIAM COPELAND, Aratika, a gentleman’s silver hunting lever watch (ring missing), No- 353442; value, £2. Identifiable.

Wellington. —l7th ultimo, from the Glasgow Wharf, the property of DANIEL BURKE, a gentleman’s B.S.A. bicycle, No. 798, black-enamelled with red and gold lines, 22in. frame, black grips, Eadie Coaster hub, rat-trap pedals ; value £B. Identifiable.

Nelson.— On or about the Bth March last, from MRS. GEORGE MATTHEWS’S dwelling in Haven Road, a plain gold wedding-ring, a keeper-ring, and an engag ment-ring, set with four diamonds; total value, £ls 15s, Identifiable.

Bealey Flat. —sth ultimo, the property of G. M. GRENSLADE, Dunedin, a fawn rainproof overcoat, with check lining, “R. 8.5.” inside, bottom button missing and buttonhole sewn up ; value, £4 10s. Identifiable.

Kaiapoi. —2oth ultimo, from the Working-men’s Club, the property of FREDERICK WYATT, a gentleman’s Swift bicycle, No. 7671, free wheel, up turned handles, new Oceanic tire on front wheel; value, £4. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —On or about the 10th ultimo, from the Trocadero Hotel, the property of F. W. CRAWFORD, a gentleman’s Sunbeam bicycle, free wheel rubber pedals, upturned handles, no grips, steel rims and mud-guards; value, £4. Identifiable.

Christchurch. — 31st March last, from the train between Rangiora and Christchurch, the property of JAMES FRANCIS HAUGHEY, a Boosey cornet, No. 83423, in a blaokleather case, with “ James Francis Haughey, 4 Purdy Street, Christchurch,” written inside ; value, £l4. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —On or about the 12th ultimo, the property of the SARTORIAL TAILORING COMPANY, 115 Worcester Street, 50 yards blue-serge and 80 yards brown horse-hair cloth, known as “ Hymo,” used for stiffening collars of coats, &c.; total value, £35. Identifiable.

Methven. —Between the 4th and 14th ultimo, the property of JOSEPH McGIRR, farmer, Cairnbrae, sixteen sacks of Garton oats, 4f bushels in each sack; value, £l6. Not identifiable.

Timaru. —7th ultimo, from Church Street, the property of GEORGE NEWLAND, a gentleman’s Star bicycle, Eadie Coaster hub, straight handles with leather grips, Clincher tires, No. 13509 ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Oamaru. —Between 12.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. on the 26th ultimo the dwelling of JOSEPH HARRISON was broken into, and twelve £1 notes stolen. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about forty-five, dark hair and complexion. He has a black beard, and walks with bent head, and was wearing a Dr. Jim hat.
