PERSONS WANTED.

Hikurangi. —22nd July, 1914, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 15s. 6d. fine and costs for a breach of the Coal-mines Act, E. Downing, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. sin., coaltrucker, supposed native of England, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes ; quiet manner.

Hikurangi. —22nd July, 1914, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 15s. 6d. fine and costs for a breach of the Coal-mines Act, J. Pickstone, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 9 in., miner, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark hair and complexion ; very talkative ; smart appearance.

Auckland. — 18th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, William Walter Hearle, age thirty, height 5 ft. carter, native of New Zealand, stout build, tanned complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, scar under left eye, right ring-finger stiff. Complainant, Susannah Hearle, Parnell.

Auckland.— -20th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Percival Henry Kellaway, age fortysix, height 5 ft. 4 in., compositor, native of England, strong build, pale complexion, long dark hair turning grey, grey eyes, one right upper front tooth missing ; plausable manner ; untidy appearance.

Auckland. —22nd instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, Robert Cutts, age thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of Australia, stout build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on side of face, one gold front tooth, deformed right hand. Gisborne. —l2th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Richard Walter Barber, age about forty, height 5 ft. 5 in., electrician, native of England, slim build, pale complexion, dark hair, black spot on the pupil of one eye.

Napier.— 9th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Robert McLean, age sixty, height about sft. 6in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair and beard turning grey, blue eyes (right one injured). Complainant, Mary McLean, Hastings Street South.

Napier.— 22nd January last, on warrant for failing to maintain his mother, Thomas McCarthy, age fifty, height 5 ft. 6in., cook, native of Ireland, stout build, darkbrown hair turning grey, light-brown beard. Complainant, Margaret McCarthy.

Hastings. —l9th June, 1914, on warrant of commitment to Alexandra Barracks, Wellington, for twentyeight days in default of paying £5 10s. fine and costs for a breach of the Defence Act, Horton B. Lorigan, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., jockey, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, long dark hair, brown eyes.

Wanganui.—lsth January last, that he may be located and Russell and Bignell, Ridgway Street, informed of his whereabouts, George Buckley, age nineteen, height about 5 ft. 8 in., bricklayer, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair and eyes.

Petone.— 22nd instant, on warrant for false pretences, William Gunn, age sixty, height sft. 9in., traveller, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair turning grey, grey eyes and beard ; dressed in dark-blue clothes and hard-felt hat. Acoused obtained £l 2s. 6d. from Arthur Albert Richardson, hotelkeeper, by means of a valueless order for £2 on Paul Bock and Co., Auckland. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 191.)

Johnsonville. —l6th instant, for escaping from Porirua Mental Hospital, James Stuart Guilford, age thirtynine, height 5 ft. 7 in., engineer, native of England, stout build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, round face, 15 stone weight. (See Police Gazette, 1904, page 10.)

Wellington.—23rd instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the sup port of his wife, James William Murdoch Ross, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 3 in., salesman, native of Australia, fresh complexion, fair hair, brown eyes. Wellington. —9th ultimo, that he may be compelled to maintain his illegitimate child, Thomas Holford, age about thirty-three, height about 5 ft. 4 in., fireman, native of England, slight build, sallow complexion, brown hair ; supposed to be slightly deaf. Complainant, Ada Hickman.

Wellington.— l2th October, 1914, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three days in default of paying £l 3s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his illegiiimate child, John Murdock, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., driver, native of New Zealand, slim build, fair hair, blue eyes.

St. Andrew’s. — l4th instant, on warrant of commitment to Timaru Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paying 11s. fine and costs for drunkenness, James Cass, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of Australia, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, grey eyes; slovenly appearance. He may be identical with James Walker, alias Cass, referred to in Police Gazette, 1914, page 132.

Dunedin. —26th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Iftfilliam John Moore, age about thirtyfive, height 5 ft. 6in., traveller, native of Ireland, medium build, dark hair and complexion, large blue eyes, thin features, high cheek-bones, square chin, broad shoulders; usually dressed in a navy-blue or brown suit and grey cap or brown soft-felt hat; wears hair watch-guard, with an Orange emblem attached with “G” in centre. He is supposed to be accompanied by Flora Kane, age thirty-one, height about 5 ft. 2 in., slight build, pale complexion, blue eyes, pug nose; dressed in a brown check skirt, three-quarter-cut grey-and-black coat and a white-felt hat with a red band, and wears a gold wristlet watch. iSee Police Gazette, 1914, page 334.)
