Whangaroa. —On or about the Ist instant, from the dwelling of ALBERT KENNY, butcher, Kaeo, a pair of pigskin leggings; value, £1 ss. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Alfred Holden, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 8f in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, brown eyes, flat nose, (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 619.)

Auckland.— THOMAS HENRY HODGEN’S bank-book stolen: Frank Patterson is suspected of this offence. Description: Age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, stooping shoulders, clean-shaved, fair hair and complexion, thin face ; quiet appearance ; very talkative ; a prominent cricketer. Auckland. —4th instant, from the Palmerston Buildings, the property of HENRY ALDER, a Behrs bolt pistol, hammerless, wooden stock, in soft brown-leather case ; value, £7. Identifiable.

Kingsland. —Between the 20th and 26th December, 1914, from Point Chevalier, the property of JOHN ANDREW EVANS, labourer, a 10 ft. rowing-boat, “ J.E.” outside stern, painted light green ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Gisborne. —9th instant, from the dressing-shed at Waikanae Beaoh, the property cf NOEL HENBY BULL, law clerk, a black-leather pocketbook (recovered), containing £4 10s. in notes and gold ; a leather tobacco-pouch ; an old silver hunting English lever watoh, number supposed 105804, “Robert Cole” engraved inside case; a Oct. gold doublecurb chain ; and a silver case, containing a nail-file and pipe cleaner : total value, £ls. Identifiable except money.

Taumarunui. —l4th instant, from the Grosvenor Hotel, the property of THOMAS HINTON, farmer, a silver halfhunting watch (similar to pattern No. 1 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 1) ; an 18 ot. gold chain, about 16 in. long, fetter pattern (similar to pattern No. 20 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2), with an 18 ct. gold pendant, consisting of two fernleaves (engraved in centre “T. Hinton, from Girls and Mother”) and a metal sovereign-case, containing £2 10s. in gold, attached: total value, £lB 10s. Watch and chain identifiable.

New Plymouth.— On the 12th instant the dwelling of WILLIAM RIGBY WOOD, 611 Devon Street, was broken into, and the following articles stolen : A lady’s open-faced gold watoh, maker Brett, Chester, with a gold chain, long and short links alternately ; a lady’s gold ring, with four or five dull-blue stones (one missing) ; a gold brooch, heavily gilded and ornamented, made of two long earrings joined and set with a greenstone near each end ; a pebble brooch, set in chased gold ; a silver thimble in case ; a gold nugget (about Joz.); a lady’s crocodile skin purse, containing about ss. in silver and a crooked sixpence, two “ Primrose League ” badges for button-holes, with gilt P on white-enamel ground, which is in the form of a clover-leaf —very rare in New Zealand : total value, £2B Bs. Identifiable except cash.

New Plymouth. —On or about the 10th instant, from the dwelling of JOHN JAMES CHAPMAN, Devon Street, a gold locket, set with two rubies and a pearl in the shape of a forget-me-not; a long gold muff-ohain; a gold brooch, set with two rubies and a diamond, similar to pattern No. 48 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 4 : total value, £5 10s. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. —On the 10th instant the dwelling of JOHN PATON, Gilbert Street, was broken into, and the following articles stolen : A lady’s gold hunting Waltham lever watoh, No. 1410376, “ M.G.P.” probably outside case, key-winding; a dress-ring, set with two small diamonds and a ruby; a silver - mounted crocodile - skin purse; and a crocodile-skin card-case : total value, £8 ss. Identifiable.

Napier. —On or about the sth instant, from the Defence Office, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT, a black cash-box, containing £4 in gold and silver. Box identifiable.

Hastings. —On the 9th instant the dwelling of RAU AKUHATA was broken into, and the following articles stolen: A 9ct. gold bar brooch, set with a garnet; a greenstone heart; and a child’s money-box, containing coppers : total value, 13s. Identifiable.

Dannevirke. —On or about the 29th ultimo, from a paddock at u Tamaki, the property of ALBERT WORSNOP, coal-merchant, a bright bay half-draught gelding, eighteen years old, 15 hands, star on forehead, docked tail; value, £35. Identifiable.

Bull’s —lsih instant, from the dwelling of ARNOLD ALEXANDER GUILD, Halcombe, an open-face nickel watcn, a pair of trousers, a white soft shirt, a pair of braces, a purse, and 15s. in cash: total value, £2 7s. 6d. Identifiable except cash. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty, a swagger, medium build, height about 5 ft. 7 in., dark hair and complexion, small dark moustache ; dressed in a dark suit with a square-cut; coat.

Levin. —25th ultimo, the property of CHARLES REID, farm labourer, a gentleman’s black-enamelled bicycle, rubber pedals, black grips, Cambridge tires; value, £5. Identifiable.

Dannevirke. —Between 6 pan. on the 4th and 7.30 a.m. on the sth instants the premises of JOHN C. DAVIDSON, ironmonger, Miller’s Road, were broken into, and the following articles stolen: 10 gauge glass-cutters, “Red Devil” brand; a tube-vice, “Footprint” brand, No. 384; seven Ayres tennis-balls ; five dozen Dixon’s red and black carpenters’ pencils; three white-metal conical oil-cans; ten round copper oil-cans; three quarter-pint “ K ” oil-feeders; and a three-quarter-pint “K ’’oil-feeder: total value, £2 19s. 3d.
