Houhora.— -30th December last, on warrant for theft of a quantity of gum, valued at £5 (part recovered), the property of Luka Antonovich, gum-digger, Tony Babich, alias Tomacovich, alias Thomas, alias Krisanovich, age thirty-five to forty, height about 5 ft, 4 in., gum-digger, supposed native of Poland, stout build, dark hair and complexion, small grey eyes, hairy face, big head ; speaks several foreign languages.

Accused forged the name Alexander Forsyth to a cheque for £3O 10s. on the National Bank of New Zealand, Onehunga, and tendered same at the bank, receiving cash to that amount. He is supposed to be identical with Anthony Claude Gumm, referred to in Police Gazette , 1913, page 57, and Photographs, page 17.

Stratford. — Since 14th January last, that two maintenance orders for the support of his wife and family may be served on him, William Smith, age sixty-five, height about 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of England, medium build ; inclined to stoop ; fond of drink ; very quarrelsome ; suffers from rheumatism.

He may be identical with Thomas Kelly, referred to in Police Gazette , 1914, page 758.
