Auckland. —3lst ultimo, from a bedroom at the Albert Hotel, the property of CHRISTOPHER CHARLES BERRY, a gentleman’s 18 ct. gold hunting Geneva lever watch, No. 69133; a gentleman’s 18 ct. gold double albert, fetter and Bernstein connection pattern; a gold seal representing a bob tailed horse ; and a silver sovereign-case, with “ C.C.B. ” on it, containing £2 10s. in money: total value, £3O. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. —24th ultimo, from a shop at Newmarket, the property of JOHN PARNHAM BOYLE, a gentleman’s 9 ct. gold ring, claw-set with a ruby; value, £2 7s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown) age about thirty, height about sft. 5 in., strong build, dark complexion and hair. He was carrying a brown-leather brief-bag. The suspect represented himself to be a prospective purchaser, and was shown a number of rings, including the one described. It was missed soon after he left the shop.

Auckland.— 6th instant, from a seat in the Domain, the property of EVA PROUD, a brown-leather handbag with long cord handles, containing a 15 ct. and an 18 ct. gold wedding-ring ; a small clasp purse ; and 10s. in money : total value, £2 10s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about eighteen, height about 5 ft., strong build, dark complexion and hair. The suspect snatched the bag and ran away.

Suspicion is attached to Herbert Peter Cleary, age twenty - nine, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and horse-trainer, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, dark - brown hair, blue eyes (shade over one eye, which has been injured), crooked nose, scar on right little finger ; low appearance. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), about sft. Sin. high; well dressed in dark suit and cap. While Miss Laurenson was walking in Bidwell Street, the suspect snatched the handbag containing the necklet from her arm and ran away. He may be identical with William Fred Murray, alias Stranbrooke, referred to in Police Gazette, 1912, page 682, who is now awaiting trial at Wellington on another charge.
