Auckland. —Ist ultimo, from Binney and Son’s store, the property of ROBERT McFARLANE, a gentleman’s 18 ct. gold signet ring, with “R. McF. ” on it; value, £3 ss. Identifiable.

Auckland. —About 19th ultimo, from a bedroom at the Clarendon Hotel, the property of WILLIAM -JAMES MATTHEWS, a gentleman’s silver keyless hunting-watch, “ Mattie ” scratched inside of back case ; a gold medal, with “J. Auckland.— On the 26th ultimo, the dwelling of Edward Howard Woledge was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom: A cash-box, a silver pencil, two large shark’s teeth, a brooch, a Chinese coin, a dog’s tooth, a pocketbook (all recovered) ; two silver medals, about the size of a florin, “ Presented by J. Mattherson, and won by E. H. Matawai. —2oth June last, from a paddock, the property of CHARLES NEAL, storekeeper, a bay horse with black points, about 14 bands high, light build ; value, £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to two men (names unknown). Description: First, age about forty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, fair hair, sore eyes, ginger moustache ; dressed in a dark suit and hard hat. Second, age about twenty, height about 5 ft. 6in., medium build, dark complexion and hair; clean-shaved ; dressed in a grey suit and dark-felt hat. Tokomaru Bay. —About 28th October last, from a paddock off Ormond Road, the property of FRANCIS B. ROWLEY, an aged chestnut gelding, about 15J hands high, indistinct brand (resembling A. 1.) on near shoulder, scar on inside of off hock; value, £l2. Identifiable.

Gisborne. —10th ultimo, from a paddock off Palmerston Road, the property of Dr. J. C. COLLINS, a five-year-old bay gelding with white legs and a white spot on forehead, sore on back and one fore and hindlegs ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. —Between 7th and 19th ultimo, from the Criterion Stables, the property of NEWTON KING, a motorcar speedometer and clock in a black celluloid case. The speedometer is circular in shape with nickel facings, and its face is 4 in. in diameter and has a white-ribbon indicator with black figures, “Stewart Warner, Speedometer Corporation, Chicago, U.5.A.,” on it. The clock is an eight-day and also circular in shape with nickel facings; it is a facewinder and 2 in. in diameter. Total value, £l2. Identifiable.

Napier. —Bth ultimo, from Station Street, the property of JOHN COTTERILL, a gentleman’s black-enamelled rusty B.S.A. bicycle, No. 28400, 24 in. frame, upturned outrigger handles without grips, front mud-guard made from a rubber tire, rear one broken ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Pahiatua. —19th ultimo, from the Commercial Stables, the property of FRANK CHAPLIN, a gentleman’s 22 in. bicycle, square handles, rat-trap pedals, odd steel mudguards, slight buckle in frame near driving-wheel, “F” on left side of saddle ; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Petone. —23rd ultimo, from a bedroom, the property of EDWARD HARRUP, a gentleman’s bunting keyless Swiss watch ; and a 9 ct. gold curb watch-chain, with a silver swivel at one end and a brass one at the other, and a gold ring in the centre: value, £5 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Robert McLachlan, age twenty-one, medium height, labourer, native of New Zealand, dark complexion. He is a member of the Expeditionary Force now in camp at Trentham.

Wellington. —loth November last, from outside Veitch and Allan’s store, Cuba Street, the property of WILLIAM GIST, a gentleman’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 1821, 24 in. frame, small turned-down handles, back-pedal brake, steel pedals; value, £3 10s. Identifiable.

Wellington. —7th November last, from outside 22 Harris Street, the property of R. JAMIESON AND CO., a gentleman’s blaok-enamelled Phillips bicycle, No. 85076, 24 in. frame, slightly upturned handies with black grips, back-pedal and front-rim brakes, Midland tires, Governor saddle; value, £4. Identifiable.

Murchison.— About 26th ultimo, from a bedroom at the Commercial Hotel, the property of JAMES EDWIN JONES, a plain nickel-silver open-face keyless lever watch, No. 1033044, private No. 7784 on back of case; a 9ct. gold double curb chain (similar to illustration No. 15 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2), one link supposed brass, no bar, and a piece of quartz loaded with gold attached, the quartz being polished and mounted with 15 ct. gold, and has a double eye on top, which fastens it to the chain ; a Maori greenstone pendant with a hole in it also attached to the chain with a split link ; a gold nugget tiepin, weighing about 3dwt., two specks of quartz visible at back ; and £ll7s. 6d. in money.
