Remueba.— Between 16th and 19th instant MORTON GOSSAR’S dwelling was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A lady’s half-hoop ring, claw-set with five diamonds ; a lady’s cross-over ring, set with two diamonds and chips and a pearl; a lady’s ring, claw-set with five opals; a lady’s 9 ct. gold expansion wristlet with a 9ct. gold open-face keyless wristlet watch; and a Cingalese butterfly bracelet, one link broken : total value, £4O. Otorohanga,— Between 19th and 21st instant, from near the roadside, the property of THE NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Telegraph Department) a coil of oopperbronze telegraph-wire, size 18, weighing 531 b, and a large soldering-iron; total value, £3 13s. 9d. Identification doubtful.

Waipawa. —Between 11th July last and 11th instant, from EDWARD BIBBY’S dwelling, a Maori axe (taiaha), about 3 ft. long, made of very old dark wood, with a little carving

on the handle; a dark carved walking-stick, with a male figure on one side and a female on the other; a whalebone mere about 12 in. long ; and a carved mere made of dark wood, about 12 in. long, with the figure of a man carved thereon, but part of the carving has been cut away : total value, £55. Palmerston North. —lsth instant, from a motor-car at the back of the Empire Hotel, the property of DONALD McLEAN, a set of ivory-mounted'“ McDougall ” bag-pipes in an oblong leather case (top part of large drone has been broken and repaired with dark thread), dark “ Gordon ” tartan ribbons and dark bag; value, £l4.
