Te Awamutu. —l6th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying 19s. fine and costs for assault, James O’Brien, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and oomplexion, light-blue eyes, thick nose; fond of drink ; dressed in dark suit and cap.

Marton. —sth instant, on warrant for false pretences, Hugh Galbraith, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 10 in., shepherd, native of New Zealand, medium build, brown hair, fair complexion; drunken appearance. Accused obtained the sum of £4 from Charles E. Gibbons, hotelkeeper, by means of a valueless order on the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Limited, Rangiora. He has an order-book on the above-mentioned association in his possession.

Woodville. —7th instant, on warrant for failing to make adequate provision for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Gilbert Love, age about twentyfour, height about 5 ft. 8 in., cook, supposed native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, respectable appearance; usually dressed in dark clothes. Martinborough. —On or about Jthe 10th instant, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Charles Allan, age thirty, heighfritbout 6 ft., aim.Miho'urer, native of New Zealand, medfuni build, dark complexion ; dressed in grey suit and cap,'; fcipd 6f drink.. His parents reside in Dunedin. Accused' forged the name pf Leslie G. Gaskin to a cheque for £7 Bs. on the Bank of Austreftjisia, Featherston, and uttered same to Messrs. Pain and Kereaaw, storekeepers, in payment of an account, receiving £6 ss. 6d. in money and goods to the value of £1 ss. 6d.
