Auckland. —l4th ultimo, from the Star Hotel, the property of JAMES HENRY ASHWELL, engineer, care of the Gane Milking-machine Company, a gentlemen’s silver open-face Rotherham watch; a silver chain, cable pattern, broken ; and four sovereigns: total value, £9 ss. Watch and chain identifiable.

Auckland. —26th ultimo, from a bedroom in the Grand Hotel, the property of STANLEY SMITH, care of the Dunedin Star, a brown-leather pocketbook containing a £5 note, and a “ return-half ” saloon steamer ticket, Wellington

Auckland. —14th ultimo,, from the Star Hotel, the property of GEORGE NESBITT, clerk, a ladies’ gold open-face keyless Swiss watch, very old, flowered back, maker’s name on face, either “ Bensen ” or “Jensen”; value, £7. Identifiable.

Auckland.— sth ultimo, from the dwelling of DANIEL LAWRENCE, carpenter, Cornwall Park Avenue, Epsom, a small zither and a black-handled razor; total value, £1 ss. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a Man, name unknown, age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 4 in., a hawker of greenstone, novels, &c.

Auckland. —Ist January, from the person of AGNES FOY, care of Wbakatane Hotel, a ladies’ handbag (recovered), a plain 22 ct. gold ring, a small gold locket containing a lock of hair, a ladies’ gold Geneva watch with “A. Foy ” inside back case, a long gold muff-chain with small links, and a greenstone brooch: total value, £l2. Identifiable. Rotorua. —27th December last, from a motor-car between Te Ngae and Okere, the property of FRANK W. HERDMAN, agent, Hamilton, a ladies’ soft leather 15 in. by 9 in. hand-bag, containing letters addressed to Mrs. Herdman. Grand View, Hamilton; a ladies’ turquoise ring, with five stones, claw setting ; a sapphire ring, with five stones, claw setting ; a pearl-and-turquoise ring ; a pearl pendant, set with one large pearl surrounded by small ones; a threedrop topaz pendant and earrings to match ; two oval blueenamel pendants, one has a pearl in the centre, and both have a photograph at back: total value, £IOO. Identifiable.

Napier. —24th December last, from a yard in Tennyson Street, the property of ASHBURN HOLLAND, clerk, Bridge Street, Ahuriri, a gentlemen’s B.S.A. bicycle, No. 106946, free wheel, Edie hub, front-rim brake, two mud-guards, 24 in. frame ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Eltham. —7th December last, from outside the Kaponga Hotel, the property of VINCENT WEST ARDEN, enginedriver, Riverlea, a gentlemen’s black - enamelled B.S.A. bicycle, No. 8597, no mud-guards, white grips, Bates tiro on front wheei, Dunlop tire on back wheel, makers Skeets and Bockart, Auckland ; a very-light-made machine, suitable for road-racing ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Wanganui. —sth instant, the shop of JOHN B. ALSTON, hairdresser, Ararnoho, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom: Three Eclipse watches, four Altona razors, five silver match-boxes, two metal sovereigncases, six G.B.D. pipes, three tobacco-pouches, and two cigarette - holders; total value, £9 10s. Identification doubtful.

Palmerston North. —11th ultimo, from the bicycle-stand at the post-office, the property of CHARLES McEWAN, clerk, post-office, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Champion bicycle, free wheel, white grips, rim-brakes, rubber pedals; value, £B. Identifiable.*

Wellington. —7th instant, from a bedroom at the Queen’s Private Hotel, the property of F. BECKER, fireman, a gentleman’s 14 ct. gold hunting keyless watch, plain case ; an 18 ct. gold double albert chain, twisted-curb pattern, sliding-bar, swivel at each end ; a gold medal, with a raised heart in centre , a gold medal, with a raised blue-enamel centre, “ Hardwick Rifle League ” engraved thereon ; a 9 ct. gold ring, claw-set with a white sapphire ; an oval-shaped gold-locket brooch, stone missing from centre ; a chased silver fountain-pen ; and £2O in gold coin : total value, £44. Identifiable.

Wellington. —2Bth ultimo, from a bedroom at Young’s Private Hotel, the property of FREDERICK BOAGLEY, wharf labourer, a gentlemen’s gold watch and chain (recovered) ; a gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless open-face watch, “R. G.R.” on back of case, and three sovereigns; total value, £l7 10s. Watch identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Haynes (name probably fictitious), age thirty, height 5 ft. 9 in., supposed printer, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair and moustache, sharp features ; dressed in a dark suit. Suspect pawned the gold watch and chain at John Griffiths’s pawnshop.

Wellington. —3rd instant, from the Royal Oak Hotel, the property of LYDIA NICKERSON HOWE, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold keyless hunting-watch, plain case with chased edge, “Bigelow and Kennaird,” Boston, “ L. N. L.” in monogram on outside of case; and a silk-ribbon fob guard with gold clasp on fine chain, with gold buckle and

gold pyramid-shaped seal attached, “ L. N. L.” on seal: total value, £3O. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a Man, name unknown, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., slight build, very fair hair, reddish complexion, sharp features ; smart appearance ; well dressed in a blue suit and straw hat; carried a fawn overooat. Suspect was seen coming out of complainant’s room during her absence.

Greymouth. —26th ultimo, from the dwelling of PERCY V. SHARPE, clerk, Cobden, a silver-plated cornet, makers Charles Begg and Co., bottom thread on second valve slightly stripped ; value, £22. Identifiable.

Christchurch. 24th January last, from the Crown Hotel, the property of R. F. ATKINSON, High Street, a gentlemen’s Banfield bicycle, No. 7886, black - enamelled frame, steel rims with red lines, rat-trap pedals, upturned handles, free wheel, two lever brakes, Dunlop tires, steel mud-guards ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Methven. —27th ultimo, from the stable at the hotel, the property of JAMES CLARK, drover, Ashburton, a horse-collar, a pair of brass-mounted hames, and a pair of heavy traoes ; total value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Invercargill. —l3th ultimo, from the High School, the property of ARTHUR REID, East Road, an almost-new mouse-coloured rainproof overcoat, “ Rainotite ” on tag, check lining; would fit a man about sft. Bin. ; value, £3. Identifiable.
