INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.

Sydney (New South Wales).— A warrant has been issued by the Water Police Bench for the arrest of David Bldridge, charged with embezzling the sum of £3 10s., the property of Timothy Sweeney and others, trustees of the Railway Works and Geneial Labourers’ Association of New South Wales, at Thirty-two-mile Camp, near Gloucester, on the 12th April last. Offender is about thirty-seven years of age, labourer, 5 ft. 8 in. high, stout build, sallow complexion, broad face, dark hair, going bald in front, small dark moustache, large staring eyes. His correct name is said to be Ulrich, and that his parents reside in Gisborne, but no trace can be found of them there. (See New South Wales Police Gazette, 1911, page 221.) (P. 12/774.)

Sydney (New South Wales). —Inquiry requested for Robert Ambrose Tilden, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 10 in. or 11 in., thin build, sallow complexion, very dark hair, brown moustache, brown eyes, native of New South Wales; a labourer; addicted to drink; dressed in dark sac suit and brown soft-felt hat. He was seen in Sydney in April last, and stated that he intended going to New Zealand. Inquiry by his wife, who is destitute. (See New South Wales Police Gazette, 1907, page 432.) (P. 12/954.)

Glasgow (Scotland). Smith, age thirty-nine, looks younger, height 5 ft. 4 in. or 5 in., native of Glasgow, speaks with Scotch accent, fresh complexion, fair hair, clean-shaved, grey eyes, smart gait. He was formerly in business for himself as a bookseller and stationer in Glasgow, but drank himself out of it. He deserted his wife and family about eighteen months ago. On the 19th February last his wife received a letter with the Wanganui, New Zealand, post-mark on it, containing £1; no address was given, and no trace of him can now be obtained at Wanganui.
