(From Gazette, 1911, pages 511 and 520.) Art Union of London exempted from Provisions of Gaming Acts. ISLINGTON, Governor. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, This second day of February, 1911. Present : The Honourable J. A. Millar presiding in Council. iN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section ten of the Gaming Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the provisions of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other Acts prohibiting lotteries, shall not apply to the Art Union of London, being a body corporate established by Royal Charter in the United Kingdom for the advancement of the fine arts. Regulations for Deer-shooting , Nelson. ISLINGTON, Governor. IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “ the said Act”), I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby

make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the Nelson Acclimatization District, comprising the Counties of Waimea, Takaka, and Collingwood, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS. 1. Red-deer stags and fallow deer bucks may be taken or killed within the Nelson Acclimatization District from the 25th day of February, 1911, to the Ist day of May, 1911, both days inclusive. 2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Nelson, and the Postmaster at Motneka, on payment of a license fee of £1 Is., in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations : Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person. 3. No licensee shall take or kill more than six deer in all, whether red-deer stags or fallow-deer bucks; and no reddeer stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than four points, and no fallow-deer buck carrying antlers with less than four points. 4. No doe, hind, or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him. 5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof. 6. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding £2O.

No. License to take or kill Game (Deer). , of , having this day paid the sum of £ , is hereby authorized to take or kill deer (bucks or stags) of not less than points, within the Nelson Acclimatization District, from the day of , 1911, to the day of , 1911 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regulations thereunder in force within the said district. Ratahi Lagoon to he a Sanctuary for Imported and Native Game. ISLINGTON, Governor. PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, John Poynder DicksonPoynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area.

SCHEDULE. All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, being the Ratahi Lagoon, in the Township of Te Puia, Block XVI, Mata Survey District.
