Helensville. — 16th or 17th ultimo, from a paddock, the property of WILLIAM HENRY GOODWIN, farmer, a bay mare with black points, nine years old, about 15 hands high, tail and mane long, no blemishes ; a gentlemen’s saddle, with dark-blue lining, red-web girth, a new and an old stirrup-leather (nickel irons) ; a bridle, check-strap broken; a curb bit, one end broken ; a dark-oilskin coat: total value, £ll. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to William Mcßride , alias William Patrick Brophy, who worked for complainant up to the middle of February last, and was in the district. Richmond. —On or about 22nd ultimo, from the Railway Hotel, Richmond, the property of THOMAS PRITCHARD, jockey, Lower Hutt, a pair of riding-boots, with odd straps, value £3 ; a pair of jockey’s riding-trousers, with bone buttons, value £l. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Harry Payton, age twenty-five, height sft. 4in., groom, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in dark-tweed sac suit and hard blackfelt hat. Suspect is employed by George Murfit, horsetrainer, Cobden, Greymouth.

Greymouth. —On or about/17th February last, from a paddock, the property of/th</ HON. First : Age twenty, height 6 ft., well built, brown hair and eyes, fresh complexion ; dressed in dark-grey tweed suit, with stripe running through it.
