Auckland.— l7th instant, from the bedroom of JOHN MORRISON, licensee Metropolitan Hotel, a ladies’ long gold muff-chain; a flat gold bar brooch, with small piece of pure gold t in centre ; a large gold cable bracelet, chased on one side, padlock attached; a gold brooch, set with two lightcoloured olivines, a small diamond, and three pearls; a ladies’ 15 ct. gold ring, set with four rubies, two pearls, and a small diamond ; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with four diamonds and three sapphires; a pair of turquoise earrings : total value, £3O. Identifiable.
Auckland. —27th ultimo, from the feed-room in the Buckland’s Sale-yard, property of DAVID PATTEN, a gentlemen’s stock-saddle, hog-skin seat, 3Jin. knee-pads, yellow web girth, large steel stirrups ; a single-rein bridle with large ring bit, red forehead band : value, £4. Identifiable.
Ellerslie. PEACH, farmer, Green Lane, a set of single-buggy harness, nearly new, black leather, with silver and nickel mountings, made by Ormiston, Hobson Street, Auckland ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Waihi. — About 15th April last, from a paddock, the property of DAVID JAMES DURIES, farmer, Mataura, Waihi, a chestnut mare, about fifteen or sixteen years old, about 14 hands high, long tail, split in one hoof, no brands; value, £6. Identifiable.
Waverley.— l7th instant, from the dwelling of ANDREW BOYD, plasterer, an English silver open-faced lever watch, silvered dial, “William Orr, Saltcoats,” engraved on inside of the works; value, £6. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Ernest Devoine, age about eighteen, height about sft. 3in., thick-set; dressed in dark suit and cap.
Wellington. —22nd instant, from a cabin on the s.s. “ Moeraki,” the property of MARK COHEN, journalist, Dunedin, a gentlemen’s gold hunting-watch, maker Erhardt, London, number not known, value £25; a black-ribbon watch-guard, gold shield in centre, “ M. C.” in monogram thereon, a gold keeper on each end, value £1 Is.; a gold sovereign-case and match-box combined, about 3 in. long, “M. 0.” thereon, value £6 ; and two sovereigns. The above articles were stolen from complainant’s vest, which was hanging in his cabin, during the time the boat was in Wellington.
Wellington. —23rd ultimo, from the Ministerial Residence, Tinakori Road, the property of CATHERINE MILLER, a dark-brown pet Pomeranian dog, about 10 in. high, seven months old, w 7 eak in hind-quarters, was wearing a scarlet patent-leather collar; value, £ls 15s. Identifiable.
Mount Cook. —Between 7th and 10th instant, from the dwelling of MARIE VERNON, College Street, a ladies’lß ct. gold keyless open-faced watch, “ Aldo to Veronique ” on back of case, value £5 ; a ladies’ 9 ct. gold muff-chain, small links, value £3 10s. ; an 18 ct. gold bangle, Nellie Stewart pattern, hinge damaged, dent near the hinge, value £10; a 15 ct. gold cable bangle, had five pearls and blue-coloured stones in centre, two are now missing, a French coin attached; value, £6 10s. Identifiable.
Dunedin. —2oth ultimo, from a building in course of erection for the New Zealand Express Company, the property of NICOL ALEXANDER BOOTH, carpenter, a hollow plane, an iron plane, a rivet-plane, a tenon-saw, a set of bits in green baize (planes and saw marked “ A. Booth ”) ; value, £1 13s. 6d. Identifiable. Also a steel plane, “ Matthews ” thereon ; a small steel plane, slight crack on side ; a rabbet plane ; and an oilstone, the property of STANLEY MCDONALD, carpenter : value, £2 7s. Identifiable.
Owaka.-— 6th instant, the property of CHARLES R. SMITH, farmer, a light-coloured leather riding-saddle, sewing loose on pommel, one stirrup-leather broken and mended with copper rivet, two or three leather strips missing from girth, large nickel stirrups ; value, £4. Identifiable.
Invercargill. —llth instant, from the Empire Stables, the property of ALEXANDER HENDERSON, farmer, Puni Bush, a B.S.A. black-enamelled bicycle, No. 21004, free wheel, 22 in. frame, back-pedalling brake, wide reversible handles, steel rims with red lines, steel rat-trap pedals, celluloid mud-guards, roller chain; value, £B. Identifiable.
