(From Gazette , 1909, pages 2350 and 2355.) Inspector of Sea-fishing appointed. Marine Department, Wellington, 7th September, 1909. HIS Excellency the Governor has, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in him by subsection (1) of section 4 of “ The Fisheries Act, 1908,” appointed Walter Cooper,
of Napier, Police Constable, to be an Inspector of Seafishing under the above-mentioned Act. J. A. MILLAR.
Amending Regulations regarding keeping Trout in Freezing or Cool Chambers during Close Season.
PLUNKET, Governor. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this sixth day of September, 1909. Present : The Honourable James Carroll presiding in Council. WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 76, of the eighth day of the same month, regulations were made regarding the possession during the close season of trout of any species: And whereas it is desirable to amend the said regulations : Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section eighty-three of “ The Fisheries Act, 1908,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby amend the said regulations in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE. Clause 1. Delete the following words: “ subject to the restrictions as to weight hereinafter imposed.” Clause 2. After the words “ situated with,” in the fourth line, insert the words “his name and postal address.” Clause 3. After the words “deposited therein,” in the seventh line, insert the words “and if found legally deposited shall then at once authorise the manager, or person in charge of the chamber, to deliver same without further reference to him.” Clause 4. Delete the words and figures “ fifty-six (56) pounds,” and insert in lieu thereof “ 1 cwt. (one hundredweight).” Clause 5. Delete the following words: “ The manager of the freezing or cool chamber shall forthwith submit to such secretary or fishery officer a statement of the number and weight of trout delivered in accordance with such authority.” J.
