INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Sydney. — Warrants have been issued by the Inverell Bench for the arrest of Harold Enos Whittingham for larceny ns a bailee of a bioycle, value £lO, the property of George W. B. Ring, Inverell, and with wife-desertion. Supposed to have gone to New Zealand. He is twenty-two years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. high, medium build, sallow complexion, clean-shaved, dark-brown hair, smart appearance, walks quickly; usually dresses in dark clothes and grey Dr. Jim hat. A clerk, and native of Inverell. For inquiry only. Other charges pending. (09/379.)
Sydney.— A warrant has been issued by the Newcastle Bench for the arrest of William McDougall, charged with disobeying a Magisterial order to pay 12s. 6d. per week towards the support of his wife, arrears due £24. (See New South Wales Police Gazette, 1908, page 413.) He is fifty-three years of age, 5 ft. 5 in. high, medium build, brown complexion, brown hair and moustache turning grey, blue eyes, blind in the right eye (which looks white and small) ; a coal-miner ; a native of Scotland ; addicted to drink. For inquiry only, that he may be induced to contribute towards the support of his wife. (08/2810.)
North Sydney’. —A warrant has been issued by the Children’s Court Bench for the arrest of Wilfred John Massey, charged with disobeying a Magisterial order for the support of his child. He is twenty-five years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in. high, slight build, thin sharp features, clean-
shaved, dark hair and complexion, blue or grey eyes; generally dressed in a blue-serge sac suit, and Panama or green soft-felt hat ; a general house repairer. Said to be in New Zealand. (See New South Wales Police Gazette, 1909, page 134.)
England. —lnquiry requested for John Milner Hughes, a son of J. P. Hughes, late of Trinity College, Harrogate and Southend-on-Sea, age about thirty, height about 6ft., stout build, fair complexion; very much addicted to drink, and generally in a destitute condition. He worked for a Mr. Matthews, of Taranaki, and at Foster’s Hotel, Wanganui. He was living at Watson's boardinghouse, Masterton, and left there on the 6th January last for Blenheim, but no traoe of him can be found there. He is interested in his father’s estate.
