Auckland.- Between 18th and 19th ultimo, from the yacht “Thelma,” property of ORR SHEPHERD, Scarborough Avenue, a double-barrelled breech-loading gun ; a Winchester repeating-rifle, No. 44; a pair of binoculars with eye-shades, Jagger and Harvey makers; a blackleather toilet-case, “ G. K. T.” thereon in gold letters : total value, £lO. Identifiable.
Auckland.— Between 14th and 20th ultimo, from a yacht at St. George’s Bay, the property of GEORGE HENRY CORNES, clerk, Custom Street, a green-plaid rug, with monogram “ G. H. C.” worked in various colours thereon; a brown-plaid rug; a boat’s compass; and a combination knife : total value, £3 10s. Identifiable.
Auckland.— About the 20th February last, from outside the warehouse of J. C. SPEDDING, grain broker, two gentlemen’s Rudge-Whitworth bicycles, one No. 432580, the other No. 201662 ; total value, £B. Identifiable.
Auckland. —Between 19th and 21st ultimo, from the bedroom of CONSTANCE FRASER, waitress, 28 Symonds Street, a short gold neck-chain, with greenstone book pendant attached; a 9ct. gold curb bracelet, with padlock attached, in a green-plush case ; a 9 ct. gold brooch, two bars, set with ruby and two pearls ; a ladies’ green crocodileskin purse, silver-mounted at bottom corners ; a ladies’ black imitation-morocco purse, with two handles and a strap on each side fastened with two end buckles : total value, £3 10s. Auckland. —Between 21st and 24th ultimo, from a bedroom in Thames Hotel, Auckland, the property of ALICE WATERTON, book-keeper, an old-fashioned gold brooch, with large oval greenstone in centre; a gold dagger brooch,
set with rubies and pearls ; a gold-knob pin, with stone attached to chain at end; a short gold neck-chain, with locket attached ; a ladies’ gold engagement-ring, set with diamonds and emeralds; a round gold photo pendant, containing photo of a lady; a gold band ring, stone missing, “A. 8.” thereon ; an imitation crocodile skin purse, silver fastening, “ B. W.” thereon, “Bobby, from the Girls,” and date written in ink on inside: total value, £l2. Identifiable,
Taumarunui. —Between 3rd January and 22nd February last, from a recess at Simmons’s Boardinghouse, Taumarunui, the property of JOHN GROGAN, labourer, a brown-leather band-bag (imitation crocodile-skin), “J. G.” under flap, value 155.; and an African War medal, four clasps, “ J. G.” and “N.Z.M.R.” thereon, No. 41657, value £l.
Taihape.— About 13th ultimo, from the tent of JOHN PERRY, labourer, Rangiwaea, a gentlemen’s silver hunting Rotherham watch, plain case, No. 236542, value £5 10s.; a 15 ct. gold albert, double-curb pattern, with square gold locket with sapphire in centre, value £ll. Identifiable.
Palmerston North. —l7th ultimo, from the Royal Hotel, the property of GEORGE SEARLE, licensee, an ovalshaped brass skeleton eight-day clock, attached to a brown wooden varnished base, covered by oval glass shade; value, £7. Identifiable.
Wellington,—lsth ultimo, from the Government Buildings, property of IVON HUGHES, law clerk, Otaki, a gentlemen’s Dayton bicycle, No. 100061, roller chain, Brooks saddle ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Wellington.— Theft from the PARCEL OFFICE of the GENERAL POST OFFICE : The following stolen cancelled notes have been recovered, £5 notes, Nos. 321396, 498758, 586127, and a £1 note No. G 097210 were received at the Bank of New Zealand, Feilding, on 18th ultimo; a £1 note, No. 8798246, at the Bank of New Zealand, Taihape, on 24th ultimo ; a£l note, No. C 027073, received at the Bank of New Zealand, Wellington - they have been patched similar to those previously recovered. Inquiries have failed to trace who put them into circulation. (See Police Gazette, 1909, pages 29, 81, and 98.)
Wellington. — Between 10th and 12th ultimo, from Sussex Chambers, Wellington, the property of ROYD GARLICK, physical-culture instructor, a gentlemen’s RudgeWhitworth bicycle, No. 197893 ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Granity.— 2nd ultimo, from the bedroom of ROBERT SPENCER, Martin’s Hotel, a nickel stop-watch, a braid chain with two gold shields and a pendant with “ R. W. S.” on it; value, £4. Identifiable.
Christchurch.— loth ultimo, from Addington Saleyards, the property of REGINALD PEARCE, drover, Spreydon, a gentlemen’s silver hunting keyless Waltham watch, No. 10634588, and a leather guard with greenstone pendant attached; value, £5. Identifiable.
Christchurch.— 23rd ultimo, the property of WILLIAM MARRIETT, labourer, Barbadoes Street, St. Albans, a gentlemen’s silver Watham watch, No. 10402092 ; value, £4. Identifiable.
Christchurch.— Between 17th and 18th ultimo, from the dwelling of JENNIE GUTHRIE, boardioghouse-keeper, South Belt, a ladies’ gold open-faced keyless watch, rather large size, No. 199181, “Jennie Guthrie” engraved on inside of back case ; a long gold muff-chain, rope-pattern, with gold photo pendant (a heart-shaped shell and goldmounted greenstone bible attached) ; value, £9 10s. Identifiable.
Dunedin.— Between sth and 14th February last, from the Dunedin Naval Volunteers’ Boat-shed, the property of JOHN FREDERIC, captain, two small wooden sheet-tackles, one handy wooden tackle, one stern-lamp ; value, £2 ss. Identifiable.
Dunedin. —2sth ultimo, from the bedroom of THOMAS JAMBS GRANT, licensee Metropolitan Hotel, a ladies’ small gold hunting-watch, glass broken, monogram “ G. G.” on front case, “ Georgina Grant, Clyde,” on inside of case ; a long gold muff-chain, long and small links; a bangle, greenstone links, mounted in gold, connected by gold links (a gold-mounted greenstone locket, attached by gold chain) ; a bangle, plain gold band, set with two diamonds and one ruby (gold bell attached) ; a gold wishbone brooch ; a round gold pendant, boy’s photo surrounded by flowery edge, mounted with pearls ; a gold neck-chain (very fine) ; a greenstone brooch, mounted in gold either end, “ N.Z.” in centre ; a gold heart, garnet in centre; a gold ring, with stone missing ; a square gold locket, “ T.
