Sub-Inspector John Dwyer to be an Inspector, Chief Detective Joseph Albert McGrath and Station-Sergeant Charles William Hendrey to be Sub-Inspectors of the New Zealand Police Force. No. 880. —Constable Brown, Alfred, Bth February, 1909. Rewards. Auckland.— Sergeant W. Ramsay, No. 488, and Constable C. Murphy, No. 1342, have been awarded £1 each for arresting T. Galvin and M. O’Sullivan, absentees from H.M.S. “ Cambrian.” (09/65.) Auckland. Constable J. Maher, No. 857, has been awarded £2, and Constable J. F. Murphy, No. 1086, £1 10s., for obtaining the conviction of George Hill for keeping liquor for sale in a no-license area. (09/281.) Wanganui. —Sergeant H. Beattie, No. 538, and Constable A. A. Potter, No. 805, have been awarded £2 each for services in connection with the conviction of William Brennan for taking liquor into a no-license area and delivering liquor there for sale. (09/292.)
