Auckland. —Between Ist Januaty and Ist February, 1908, at Ahuroa, property of WALTER GRIMMER, farmer, Warkworth, twenty head of cattle, ranging from eighteen months to two years and a half old ; value, £42. Branded “AP” conjoined, and not “JAP,” as reported in Police Gazette, 1908, page 209.

Port Albert. — 2nd ultimo, the property of ARTHUR TYER, storekeeper, Wellsford, a dress-basket, 2 ft. by 1 ft., containing a Post-office Savings-bank book, No. 125514; an Auckland Savings-bank book; a black band chain, goldmounted ; a glass photo frame ; a pair of white trousers; several white shirts: value, £5 12s. 6d. Christchurch.— l4th ultimo, from the pavilion in Hagley Park Cricket-ground, the property of WALTER THOMAS DUNSTER, draper, a gentlemen’s silver open-faced keyless Geneva watch, No. 74109 over 4110; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —29th ultimo, from the Theatre Royal, Gloucester Street, the property of BLAND HOLT, theatrical proprietor, a brown-leather brief-bag, about 12 in. long, containing £312 in gold, £3 in silver, and one £lO Bank of New Zealand note done up in envelopes with the names of the members of the company thereon. Entrance was effected by forcing the office-door.

Ashburton.— 2oth ultimo, from the paddock of JOHN McDONALD, farmer, a bay trotting-mare, named Maggie C, about 15 hands high, slender build, one hind foot white, nine or ten years old ; also the mare’s foal, a chestnut colt with one white hind foot, believed to have a little white on forehead: value of both, £SO. Suspicion attached to a Man, name unknown, age between twentyfive and thirty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., slight build, very dark complexion, black moustache only; dressed In grey suit and hard black hat, supposed Australian. Suspect represented himself as a buyer of trotting-horses from Australia.

Geraldine. —3rd instant, from the dwelling of WILLIAM WILLS SEAWARD, a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold curb chain, large ring in centre attached to bar by two or three links, spring-hook at one end only, to which is attached a silver match-box, initials “ W. W. S.” thereon, a gold-mounted compass pendant attached to the large ring, having cut-glas s

faces, and set in horse-shoe ; a silver curb chain ; an openfaced watch, “ Kendle and Dent, makers,” “ S. Seward,” and “T. Seward,” engraved thereon ; a white handkerchief, marked “ W. Seward ” ; and two single grey blankets : total value, £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a Swagger, name unknown, age between thirty and forty, dark complexion ; dark suit and light-felt hat. Entrance effected by forcing open the door of complainant’s hut with an axe.

Dunedin. —14th ultimo, from the Choral Hall, Moray Place, the property of GEORGE MANSON, blacksmith, a black-tweed double-breasted overcoat, with two inside and two outside pockets ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

T. ” or “E. T.” ; and a brown imitation crocodile-skin cigar-case, silver-mounted, 4 in. long by 4 in. wide: total value, £4. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Thomas Blith Robertson, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 9 in., traveller and cook, native of New Zealand, stout build, florid complexion, fair hair, slightly bald, fair moustache only ; dressed in dark suit and black hard hat.
