PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. 24th ultimo, on warrant for deserting his wife, Margaret May Smith, at Auckland, Frederick Smith, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in., fireman and wharf labourer, stout build, dark complexion and eyes, dark-brown hair, clean-shaved, crucifix tattooed on chest, sailor on right arm, King George and Dragon on one arm ; bunch of roses and “ Rose ” on left arm ; also a Volunteer and peacock. He signed on the articles of the s.s. “ Devon,” at Auckland, but failed to join.

Gisborne. —lsth instant, on forgery and uttering, J. H. Hastings. —-9th March last, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of his wife and children, Francis Schdroski, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., butcher and labourer, na tyre* of Ausi/ralia, medium build, upright active carriage, dark-brown' hair arid! brown moustache, sunburnt complexion, brcjwri eyes, aquiline nose; generally wears dark suit ted hard black hat. Is an athlete, and may be found on sports-grounds or at race-meetings. He was seen at Inglewood on the 7th instant, and was then clean-shaved, and dressed in greyish suit and dark-grey tweed cap. Ormondville. —lsth instant, on warrant for failing-to provide his wife with adequate means of support, Reginald H. Bedingfield, age forty, height 5 ft. B|in., sawmiller, native of England, slight build, reddish moustache, large Roman nose, grey eyes, erect figure, dark hair; usually wears a shoddy brown suit and hard black hat; fond of drink.

Masterton. — 26th April last, on warrant ; for theft from the Knox Church choir-room, propertyJof Louis McGregor, school-teacher, /a, ladies’ /gojd watch, a purse containing two sovereigns, a match-box,©7ner articles recovered, value £9, Donald ■ McCaskill , age fifteen, height 5 ft. 1 in., school boy; native of Australia, fresh complexion, fair hair. (See Police Gazette, 1907, page 205.) His parents reside in Wellington, and he telegraphed to them on the 18th ultimo from Takapau. His accomplice, Francis Berg, was arrested by the Hastings police, and convicted on the 30th ultimo.

Petone. — 2nd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month for assault, and six months for obscene language, Cornelius O’Brien, age thirtytwo, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of Ireland, stout build, round features, dark complexion, brown hair, cleanshaved except dark moustache, talks through his nose; generally wears grey-tweed suit and black-felt hat; supposed to have gone to the West Coast. Petone. —26th February last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 for assault, Frank Ashton, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., jockey, medium build, fair curly hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved; dressed in fawn-coloured tweed suit and hard black hat, Is a disqualified jockey.

Timaru.— 6th ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, Alfred Gilbert, age about twenty-three, height 5 ft. Bin., an ex railway clerk, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, clean-shaved, dark-brown curly hair; dresses well; fond of drink. Has friends at Little River and at Dannevirke.
