Rewards. Acting-Detectives R. Ward, No. 1066, and T. Gibson, No. 1030, Christchurch police, have been awarded £1 10s. each for the arrest of Bert Blackmore, a deserter from H.M.S. “ Challenger ”at Adelaide. (08/41.)

Sergeant W. Fouhy, No. 880, and Constable H. McLennan, No. 997, Ashburton police, have been awarded £1 10s. each for services in connection with the conviction of Alexander McKenzie for sending liquor into a prohibited district without being labelled. The Naval authorities request that in order to enable them to deal promptly with recovered deserters a report from the arresting constable, stating the place, date, and time of arrest, and any other detabs likely to be of value in investigating the case, may be forwarded at the same time as the deserter to his ship, or wherever it has been arranged to send him.
