Death. No. 581.—Constable Roe, Peter, 20th May, 1907.

Rewards. Station-Sergeant S. P. Norwood, No. 416, has been awarded £2 10s., and Constables J. Dillon, No. 382, W. Blake, No. 1309, and W. G. Cudby, No. 1322, £1 10s. each, for conviction of John Pomeroy for sly-grog selling at Christchurch in April last. (07/753.) Acting-Detective T. Gibson, No. 1031, Christchurch police, has been awarded £2 for arresting L. McCormack and A. Henderson, absentees from H.M.S. “Pioneer.” (07/38.) Sergeant S. J. Dew, No. 437, has been awarded £B, and Constables R. Ryan, No. 1107, and H. J. Bennett, No. 723, £4 each, by the Customs Department for services in connection with the conviction of Tong Shay and Joe Key for breaches of the Opium Prohibition Act. (07/38.) Constable T. Cahill, No. 286, Kaikohe police, has been awarded £4 for services in connection with the conviction of Marie Horima, Hemi Kiro, Makar aka Mohi, and Walter G. Breach for sly-grog selling. (07/1038.) Constable J. Maher, No. 857, Taumarunui police, nas been awarded £1 for services in obtaining the conviction of J. W. Singleton for introducing liquor into a Maori kainga. (07/1041.) Constable D. K. Storey, No. 845, Ashburton police, has been awarded £1 for services in connection with the conviction of Maliug and Co. for sending liquor into a prohibition district without being labelled.
