PROPERTY STOLEN.

Kaikohe.— 2sth December last, from CAROLINE ANGELL, a gold brooch set with 130 rubies, a large ruby in centre; one or two of the rubies were loose and may have fallen out. The brooch was lost near the Mamaku Sawmill, and is supposed to have been found and sold. The brooch is an heirloom; value unknown. Identifiable.

Wairoa.— 2Bth ultimo, from the shop of A. B. SMITH, bootmaker, a pair of ladies’ kid lace-up boots, ornamented with small holes round the seam of upper, size 5; a pair of ladies’ shoes, strap across instep; and a pair of gentlemen’s kid lace-up boots : value, £2 12s. Identifiable.

Hastings. —sth January last, from the paddock of PATRICK MAGGIN, farmer, a dark-brown trap-gelding, eight years old, 15£ hands high, white blaze down face, both hind legs disfigured by wire, shod all round, no brands, value £25; a grey hack gelding, ten years old, 13 or 14 hands high, splints on fore legs, slightly lame, no brands, value £10; a bay trap-mare, five years old, white star on forehead, four white legs, fairly heavy, no brands, value £3O; a lightbay trap-mare, white star on forehead, five years old, no brands, value £26. All identifiable.

Dannevirke. —Bth ultimo, from a bedroom in the Junction Hotel, the property of GEORGE SYKES, contractor, a 9 ct. gold double albert chain, long plain links, two or three small links between, spring hooks at each end, bar in centre, gold masonic emblem attached, value £3; a gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold ring with shield, “ G.S.” engraved on it, value £3. Identifiable.

Rongotea. —About 15th ultimo, from the paddock of TIMOTHY LEEN, farmer, a dark-brown gelding, about 14 hands high, white blaze down face, no brands, shod all round; value, £5. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. —Between the 3rd and sth instant, from the office of REGINALD DOUGLAS BAGNALL, solicitor, four £1 notes; £4 in mixed silver; a cheque on Bank of New Zealand, Kimbolton, for £4, signed “ M. Boshier”; a silver cup; a case with fruit knife, fork, and spoon; a case with silver egg-cup and spoon, “J. J.B. ”on it; a gold fox-head whistle; an ivory case with small gold scissors ; an old signet ring, “ A.A.” on it: total value, £4O. Identifiable.

Masterton. —7th instant, from the Queen’s Hotel, the property of JACK A. GUINNESS, commercial traveller, a brownleather portmanteau 2 ft. 6 in. long by about 2 ft. deep, containing a pair of grey-tweed trousers; a blue-serge vest; a razor, “ Gillett’s ” stamped on it; a set of hair-brushes in case; six white shirts; twelve collars, size 15—shirts and collars branded “ Jack A. G.”; a suit of pyjamas; a hat-brush; twelve handkerchiefs, marked “ J.A.G.” ; a pipe, C.B.D. ; a gold safety-brooch set in pearls; a pair of black-leather boots, size 6| , square toes; and photo of young lady : total value, about £l2. Identifiable.

Featherston. —2Bth ultimo, from the paddock of WILLIAM DALRYMPLE, drover, a black hack mare, six years old, well bred, about 15 hands high, in good condition, no brands, slight scar on point of the off shoulder; had on a green-canvas cover : value, £3O. Identifiable.

Johnsonville. —2sth ultimo, from the whare of GEORGE WORSFOLD, clerk, General Post Office, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold Waltham hunting-watch No. 4032208, “ G.W.” engraved on front case; value, £4. Suspicion attached to two boys, names unknown. First, age nineteen, height about 5 ft. 7 in. ; second, age about fifteen, height about 5 ft. 6 in.; both dressed in dark clothes and hard black-felt hats.

Greymouth. MOUAT, dressmaker, a brown-and-green plaid carriage-rug with fringe on ends, “ Kaiapoi Woollen Company ” stamped on corner ; value, £2. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —lst instant, from the dwelling of SARAH GIBSON, Hazeldene Road, a gentlemen’s band ring, “ H.G.” on it; a gentlemen’s gold ring, heavy on top and tapering towards the finger, “ T.L.G.” on it in a heart on shield; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring set with pearls and rubies, one pearl missing; a ladies’ large old-fashioned brooch with place for photograph at back, monogram “ S.A.G.” on it: total value, £B. Also £l2 in mixed money. Breaking and entering.

Dunedin. —2lst or 22nd ultimo, from Castle Street, the property of MAYSIE COLLIE, No. 227 Castle Street, a ladies’ Maori bicycle, plated rims, green spokes, green-and-yellow cords in dress-guard, Gem gear-case with “ Murie, Dunedin,” on it; value, £lB. Identifiable.
