PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. —26th ultimo, from the warehouse of H. B. MORTON AND CO., a box containing 201 b. of doublethick Derby tobacco, box about 14 in. by 7 in., and branded “ N.C.B. ” over “ O.” ; value, £5 ss.

Auckland. —22nd or 23rd ultimo, from a bedroom in the Thames Hotel, the property of ERNEST FRANS LUKS, an evening-dress coat and vest; a dark-tweed sac suit with light stripe ; a gentlemen’s gem straw hat with black band ; a gentlemen’s silver-mounted umbrella, square top ; a gentlemen’s silver-mounted bamboo walking-stick, “E. F. L. from Ethel ” engraved on end : value, £9 9s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —20th or 21st ultimo, from the Waitemata boat-shed, the property of THOMAS DOUGLAS BELL, Mary Street, Mount Eden, a leather brief-bag; a brown sweater; a pair of yachting-shoes; three rowing-jerseys, blue and gold hoops; a pair of blue and a pair of white Tairoa pants; four towels: value, £1 19s. Bag and shoes identifiable. Breaking and entering.

Surrey Hills (Auckland).—24th or 25th ultimo, the property of JaMES TEASDALE, baker, Ponsonby Road, three drab-coloured canvas horse-covers, one nearly new, the others considerably worn, “ J. T. ” on leg-straps of best one ; value, £3. Identifiable by brand.

Freeman’s Bay (Auckland)— 2lst ultimo, from the shop of WILLIAM COLLINS, baker, during a fire, a small leather bag containing £1 10s. in silver and copper; six small whitehandled table-knives, value 6s. A greenstone brooch with gold band on each end and middle, and a square gold locket, ruby in centre and “ W. Collins” engraved on back, value £3 55., are also missing, but may have been destroyed in the fire. Bag and jewellery identifiable.

Waipu. —2sth or 26th ultimo, the property of THOMAS KELLAND, Raurangi, two sacks of scraped superior white kauri-gum, sacks branded T.K.O. over 3X; two sacks of brown gum, sacks branded T.K.O. over B. ; six sacks of brown nuts, sacks branded T.K.O. over 8.N.; three sacks of sugar-gum, sacks branded T.K.O. over S. ; one sack of white nuts branded T.K.O. over W.N. ; one sack of gum-chips, branded T.K.O. over C. : value, £4l 10s. Sacks and certain pieces of white gum identifiable.

Karangahake. —26th ultimo, the property of LIONEL IZOD, clerk, a dark-brown gelding, nine years old, about 15£ hands high, white on nose, a few white hairs on forehead, scar on right knee, fast walker, broken to saddle or harness ; value £lO. Identifiable.

Waikino. —Between 10th and 11th ultimo, from Mrs. Bright’s boardinghouse, the property of LONSDALE ELLIOTT, Grafton Road, Auckland, a Sterling bicycle, very old style, black enamelled, nearly new front tyre, very old block chain, adjustable handles, number obliterated; value, £3. Identifiable.

Te Aeoha. —During March last, from Waihou, the property of MARGARET HYDE, a white steer, aged two years, value £3 10s. ; a yellow-roan heifer, aged two years and a half, value £5; a red-roan heifer, aged two years and a half, near to calving, value £5; two red heifers, aged eighteen months, tufts at end of tails nearly all missing; value £5. All branded “ W.H. ” under half-circle, on rump. Identifiable.

Wanganui. —23rd ultimo, from the dwelling of JAMES BLANREY, porter, Criterion Hotel, three white single blankets, value 15s. ; a rug, with five coloured stripes running diagonally through it, value 15s. ; a rolled-gold watch-chain, small round links, value £1; a silver watch-chain, bar and Chinese coin in middle, key on one end, value 3s. ; two striped-cotton shirts with collars, and one sateen shirt, value 125.; five neckties, value ss. ; a Catholic prayer-book, and two strings of rosary-beads, value 2s. 6d.; a rolled-gold tiepin, round shape, with pearls, value ss. Identifiable.

Mabton. —24th ultimo, from the railway goods-shed, the property of the RAILWAY DEPARTMENT, a box containing 281 b. of Havelock tobacco, branded “J.M.N.” over “M.”; value, £7 14s. Identifiable by brands on box only. Suspicion attached to Alexander Hill, a carrier, residing at Mar ton.

Shannon. —Between 17th and 26th ultimo, the property of SAMUEL WILLIAM CARTER, butcher, eleven black Tamworch sucking-pigs, three months old, value £5. Identifiable.

Wellington.-— 24th February last, from a right-of-way, the property of the COLONIAL CARRYING COMPANY,'a gentlemen’s Dayton bicycle, black enamelled, no brake, roller chain, gear about 60, Leader saddle ; value, £7. Identifiable.

Chbistchubch. 7th ultimo, the property of EMILY RICKETTS, 64, Antigua Street, a ladies’ 15-carat gold dressring, two rubies and diamonds in centre; a ladies’ 18-carat gold dress-ring, four turquoise stones and small diamond in centre, has a small receptacle for hair : value, £7 10s. Identifiable.

Chbistchubch.— 2Bth March last, the property of JOHN SYVRET, Kaiapoi, a gentlemen’s bicycle, front wheel larger than back, white grips, four patches on back tire, new saddle ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Chbistchubch.— 24th ultimo, from outside the Royal George Hotel, the property of ARTHUR HOBBS, a gentlemen’s Bamfield bicycle, No. 132 ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

GEORGE WILSON, camera-maker, a quarter-plate ma-hogany-stand camera, cloth bellows, rising front, and swiugback, lens and slides missing; a black box quarter-plate camera, bellows inside and black-leather handle on top, no lens ; a black varnished mahogany half-plate repeating back ; value, £lO 10s. Identifiable.

Chbistchubch. —lst or 2nd ultimo, from a yard in St. Asaph Street, the property of HUGH MAHER, a gentlemen’s daik-green rainproof overcoat; a Stanley plane; a smoothing-plane : value, £3 7s. Identifiable.

Chbistchubch. —ln February last, from the Lyttelton Times office, the property of AUGUSTUS BENNETT, Cambridge Terrace, a gentlemen’s Humber bicycle, blackenamelled, low gear, new Brooks’s saddle, straight handles ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Chbistchubch.— 12th ultimo, from the Cafe de Paris Hotel, the property of JOHN KENNEDY, a carpenter’s kit, containing a jack-plane ; an iron plane, clip in front broken; a smoothing-plane, branded “J. K.”; a level, branded “A.”; five chisels, sizes from in. to level; and al2 in. square, stamped “ J.” ; value, £4. Identifiable.

Chbistchubch. —About 18tb January last, between Wellington and Lyttelton, the property of GEORGE WHITELAW, Green Park, a ladies’ 18-carat gold open-faced watch, No. 190279, maker Baume ; value, £7 10s<

Glenavy. —Between 19th and 26th ultimo, from the railway goods-shed, the property of the RAILWAY DEPARTMENT, a box, containing 211 b. of Juno tobacco, branded “ G. P.” over “ G.” ;vaiue, £5 ss.

Dunedin. —Between 4th and Bth March last, from the dwelling of R. K. CAMERON, shipping clerk, a gentle-

men’s double-cased silver lever watch, number supposed 6339, “ Hislop ” on dial; case very much worn; value, £l. Identifiable. Breaking and entering.

Wyndham.— 28th ultimo, from the dwelling of JAMES ROBSON, storekeeper, Niagara, a tin cash-box, containing a Bank of New Zealand £l-note, a blackened sovereign, about £1 10s. in silver, a number of cheques issued about a year ago by James Robson, on the Union Bank of Australia, Invt rcargill; and two or three letters. Cheques and letters identifiable. Suspicion attached to William Smith, age about twenty, height 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, fair hair and complexion, small fair moustache. Still residing in the district.
