Auckland. maintenance, Henry Thomas Spain, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. s|in., painter, native of India, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, top off third left finger, scar on left forefinger. He was £9 in arrears on the 24th October last, for the support of his wife.

Auckland. —About 13th ultimo, on warrant for breach of Bankruptcy Act, Jennett Musgrave, age about fortyfive, height 5 ft. 6in., medium build, dark complexion, dark hair, rather good-looking, good figure, and dresses rather stylish, jovial manner. Recently kept a store in Khyber Pass. May travel under the name of Jennett Foster.

Waihi. —l9th ultimo, on warrant for theft of £3 from Samuel Tanner, butcher, Waihi, Thomas James, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 6 in., a butcher, native of New Zealand, ruddy complexion, clean - shaved, full face, jockey appearance; usually dressed in light-brown tweed suit and Dr. Jim hat. Theft as servant.

Wairoa. —2oth May last, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court to pay 4s. a week towards the support of his mother at Wairoa, Louis alias Thomas Irwin, or Irvine, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer and steward, native of New Zealand, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes; dressed in blue-serge suit and black soft-felt hat. Wanganui.— 2Bth May last, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court to pay 10s. a week for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, John Johnson, also known as Jesse Johnson, age thirty, height about 5 ft. 10 in., woodturner but works as labourer and fireman, medium build, fair complexion, brown curly hair, light-blue eyes ; generally dressed in dark clothes and Dr. Jim hat; respectable appearance. Otaki. —25th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a gentlemen’s Champion bicycle, No. 713, the property of George Ward, labourer, value £2O, John Had win, alias Brockbank, age about twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., tailor and labourer, native of Ireland, stout build, sallow complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, full face, clean-shaved except small black moustache ; generally wears dark sac suit and black hard hat. Petone. —26th October last, on warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for six months for obscene language, and three months for having no lawful means of support, Robert William Thompson, age twentythree, height 5 ft. 3 in., native of New Zealand, labourer, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, broad nose. (See Police Gazette, 1899, page 255, and 1902, page 31.)

Wellington. —23rd June last, on warrant of commitment to Napier Gaol for one month in default of paying 7s. a week towards the support of his child, David John Douglas, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 5 in., native of Ireland, gardener, fresh complexion, grey hair, hazel eyes, left eye defective. (See Police Gazette, 1903, page 21.) He is £5 ss. in arrears up to the 29th September last.

Wellington. —23rd ultimo, on warrant for forging and uttering a cheque for £lO Bs. to Isaac Boock, tailor, Manners Street, Harry Ray, age about thirty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in., about 12 stone weight, fresh complexion, round fat face, heavy dark-ginger moustache, and short side whiskers ; dressed in dark-blue sac suit, clerical vest, hard black hat, silver watch chain ; said he came from Taihape. He is no doubt identical with Edward Hamer, a,lias Reynolds (see Police Gazette, 1899, page 29). Is also probably identical with T. Thompson (see Police Gazette, 1903, page 47).

Manners Street. —23rd ultimo, on warrant for failing to support his illegitimate child, Thomas Churchward, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 6 in., clerk, stout build, dark hair,

full face, clean-shaved; dresses well. Was last heard of at Auckland. Photograph filed in the Inspector’s office, Wellington. Complainant: Mary Allan, domestic, Maternity Home, Wellington.

Christchurch. —7th ultimo, on warrant for assault with attempt to rob Edward Handcock, labourer, Studholme Junction, William Herbert Ayers, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. coach-painter, native of England, thin build, dark sallow complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes. Dunedin. — 18th ultimo, on warrant of commitment for seven days in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for breaking a window, William Copely, age thirty-eight, height sft. 10in., native of New Zealand, labourer and shearer, medium build, ruddy complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, clean-shaved except reddish moustache, heart dagger and crown on right arm, ring on left little finger, partly bald.

Dunedin. — 24th ultimo, for escaping from legal custody, Otto Heerdigan, alias J. C. Adams, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of Auckland, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair, grey eyes, long nose, may have a slight beard. (See Police Gazette, 1903, page 214.) He was undergoing a sentence of two years and a half for housebreaking, and escaped when working with a gang of prisoners at Otago Heads.

Dunedin. —18th ultimo, that proceedings may be taken against him for the maintenance of his wife, John Kelly, or Kellie, age forty-two, looks younger, height 5 ft. 8 in., native of Glasgow, a currier, clean-shaved except reddish moustache, thin features and build, ruddy complexion ; fond of drink and gambling. Invercargill. 9th ultimo, that a summons may be served for obscene language, William Allison, age about twenty, height about sft. 3in., baker boy or flax-mill hand, native of New Zealand, rather stout build, fair hair, fresh complexion, chubby face, pleasing countenance; usually wears a light-tweed suit and cap.
