Inglewood. James White Harding, farmer, Norfolk Road, reports stolen, about the Bth ultimo, a set of gigharness—black traces tinged brown with exposure, Englishmade saddle with red border, black collar leather-lined, two tacks in flap ; a gig-lamp; a double-reined riding-bridle with new piece of leather on head-band; a snaffle and curb bit: value, £ll 10s. Identifiable.

Pahiatua.— George Langley’s shop broken into : The suspect, Joseph McNamara, alias Kingi, alias Thompson, who was suspected of the offence by Detective C. R. Broberg and Constable G. Hastie, who were inquiring into the case, has been arrested by Constable E. Eales, Herbertville police. Most of the stolen property recovered.

Christchurch.— Charles Ray, Cycle-ivorks, Lower Riccarton, reports that between the 31st ultimo and the 2nd instant bis shop was broken into and a set of burnishing-tools and four sheets of sheet silver stolen ; value, £3 18s. Identifiable, suspicion attached to John Whitfield. Description : About thirty years of age, about 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in. high, medium build, clean-shaved except brown moustache, fond of drink ; dressed in brown-tweed coat, saddle-tweed trousers, black hard hat, and soft blue shirt.

Christchurch.- John Jackson, labourer, New Brighton, reports stolen from outside the Shamrock Hotel, on the 31st ultimo, a gentlemen’s Bill bicycle, No. 456, blackenamelled, gold-lined, rat-trap pedals ; value, £2O. Identifiable.

Christchurch. — George Trudgeon is charged on warrant with theft, on the 6th or 7th instant, of 15s. 6d., the money of James Maher. Description : A native of New Zealand, milk-hand and farm-labourer, about eighteen years of age, about 5 ft. 7 in. high, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes; dressed in light tweed suit and cap; sometimes wears a black hard hat. Has a sister in Wellington, and two brothers, hairdressers, in Victoria Street, Auckland. He collected the above money for the complainant and appropriated it to his own use.

Christchurch. Charles Alfred Allen, farmer, reports stolen from a railway-carriage, on the 15th November last, between Lyttelton and Christchurch, a light fawn-coloured covert coat with “ G. A. Allen” on lining at back of collar ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Christchurch. — Henry Hilton Thompson is charged on warrant with theft, on the 20th ultimo, of a bicycle, the property of Daniel Heese (recovered) ; value, £2O. Offender is a native of New Zealand, a Burnham boy, nineteen years of age, sft. in. high, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, fingers missing from right hand, two hands clasped on right forearm. Christchurch.— Arthur Gardiner, bicycle-repairer, reports stolen, on the 27th ultimo, a gentlemen’s MasseyHarris path-racing bicycle, 22 in. black-enamelled frame, No. 318650, wood rims, Dunlop tires, Brooks 81l saddle; value, £2O. Ashburton.— Daniel Machattie, Meat Inspector, Fairfield, reports stolen from the stable of the Commercial Hotel, on the Bth instant, a gentlemen’s light-brown check waterproof coat, check lining, velvet collar, chain tab, two splits in tail, no cape ; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Dunedin.— On the 6th instant the Caversham Post-office was broken into, the safe carried away and broken open on the Forbury Road, and £34 11s. sd. in notes, gold, and silver stolen.

Kaitangata.— Henry S. Hitchon reports that on the Ist instant his shop was broken into, and the following stolen : About £SO, consisting of twenty £1 notes, £2O in gold, a £5 note, and £5 in small silver and coppers ; a chequ- on the Bank of New Zealand for £8 odd, drawn by William Smaill; a cheque for £2, drawn by James Rutherford ; a cheque for £1 55., drawn by William Samson; a cheque for £2 3s. 4d., drawn by the Employees’ Benefit Socie y ; and a cheque for £2 odd, drawn by John Haggart. The safe was carried out of the shop, broken open, and the above money and cheques taken

Outram. — G. S. Gully reports stolen from a shed at the White Horse Hotel, Henley, on the 26th or 27th ultimo, the front wheel of an Osmond bicycle, Westwood rim, 28 in., black-enamelled, one spoke different to the others, Dunlop roadster tire, a large patch on inner tube near the valve, a cyclometer (No. 482566) attached to wheel; also, four spanners, a patent tire-remover, and a patent oil-can : value, £4 10s. Identifiable.

Lawrence. William Bishop Martin, jeweller, reports stolen from his shop, on the 24th ultimo, a gentlemen’s gold ring set with a large turquoise in claw setting ; value, £3 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a man , name unknown. Description : About twenty-four years of age, about 5 ft. 3 in. high, medium build, dark comj lexion, small dark moustache ; dark clothes and brown hat.

Milton. —John Gray, bicycle-importer, reports supposed stolen, about the Ist November last, an Imperial Arthur bicycle, No. 1528, B.S.A. parts, free wheel, thumb roller brake; value, £l7. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a man, name unknown, who borrowed the bicycle and failed to return it. Description : About twenty-three years of age, 5 ft. 4 in. or 5 in. high, dark complexion, dark-brown hair; dressed in greyish sac suit and Dr. Jim hat. The suspect left with complainant a Red Bird bicycle which he obtained from the company’s agent at Gore. (See Police Gazette, 1903, page 3.) Gore. — Ernest P. Graham’s bicycle has been recovered at Milton. Suspicion no longer attached to Hamilton, alias Clark.
