Reappointment as Constable. (See Police Gazette, 1900, page 222.) Kelso, Stephen Maitland, No. 851, Bth Ootober, 1901, vide section 20, “ Police Provident Fund Act, 1899.’ (P. 011/1654.)

Rewards Sergeant M. J. Geerin, No. 110, and Constable G. A McQuarrie, No. 835, Port Chalmers police, have been awarded 10s. each for arresting a straggler from H.M.S. “Archer.” (01/54.) Constable Charles Henry Pratt, No. 802, Lyttelton police, has been awarded £8 for arresting a deserter from H.M.S. “ Archer.” (01/1679.)

Constables W. H. McKinnon, No. 388, C. W. Tonkinson, No. 875, and H. J. Cattanach, No. 960, have been awarded £3 each for arresting absentees from H.M.S. “ Mildura.” (01/54.) Blankets for Lock-ups. (Circular No. 25/01.) Inspectors in charge are requested to ascertain the number of the above likely to be required before the 30th June next and forward requisitions for the same as early as possible. The blankets will then be forwarded from the Police Store to the headquarters of each district, from where they are to be issued to stations only as required, advantage being taken whenever practicable of sending them by members of the Force when proceeding to out-stations. Requisitions for further supplies should be made annually on the Ist July, the numbers being based on the average requirements of preceding years. Care is to be taken that the blankets do not become damaged by moths, &c., whilo stored at district headquarters.
