Arson.
Wellington.— About 12.45 a.m., 25th ultimo, an unoccupied house in Wright Street, the property of Thomas Adamson, and an adjoining house occupied by William James Adamson, were totally destroyed by fire. A house occupied by Henry James Coombs was also damaged to the extent of £7O. Suspicion attached to Thomas Iremonger. Description : English, painter, thirty years of age, about 5 ft. 7 in. high, slight build, dark hair, fresh complexion, thin features, and small dark moustache. Some scrim and paper in the cellar of his house was discovered on fire when the other houses were burning, and his stock was over-in-sured. At an inquest held on the 2nd instant a verdict “That the fires were wilfully caused by. some person or persons unknown ” was returned.
