Abatapu. —Erick Erickson, settler, reports that on the 3rd or 4th instant his shed was broken into, and about 2 cwt. of partly-scraped gum stolen ; value, £B.

Taubanga. —John Cramer Roberta reports stolen from his harness-room, between the 21st and 23rd/ultimo, a well-worn English saddle, maker “ Parker, London,” stamped on stirrup-flap underneath. Steel stirrup-irons, one of stirrupleathers chewed at end, and a red-and-white cotton girth : value, £3. Suspicion attached to Maoris on their way to Rotorua.

Gisbobne. —Robert Robertson, draper, reports stolen from his Bhop, Gladstone Road, on the 20tb ultimo, a drabooloured covert coat, “ Kaiapoi Woollen Company ” on the tab : value, £2. Identification doubtful.

Osmond. —William Ashwood Friar reports stolen from off his horse, on the 27th or 28th May last, a new canvas horsecover, check lining, branded “ W.A.F.” on both sides : value, £1 ss. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. —Herbert Cocker, manager Co-operative Store, reports that about 3 a.m., 11th instant, the store was broken into and 321 b. Derby and 141 b. Golden Eagle tobacco stolen, also 15s. 6d. in silver : total value, £l4 2s. 6d.

Palmebston Nobth. —Solomon Abrahams, pawnbroker, reports stolen from his shop on the 4th instant, a silver lever hunting watch, with gold hands, No. 6308, “ Wm. Bennett & Co.” on dial ; value, £3 10s. Suspicion attached to John Wardell. Description: Supposed colonial, hotel cook, about twenty-six years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, stiff build, brown hair, pale complexion; dressed in blue vicuna suit, grey Dr. Jim hat with brown band.

Wellington.— John Edward Jenkinson, cycle-manufac-turer, reports supposed stolen, on or about the 25th March last, a gentlemen’s Star bicycle, No. 3108. Suspicion attached to Henry Mitchell, who hired the bicycle, and may have sold it. Description : Colonial, about twenty-four years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, slight build, dark hair and complexion, small dark moustache, sharp features, good appearance and address, usually wears a dark-blue saosuit and hard black-felt hat. He was canvasser for the Citizens’ Life Insurance Company, and was last seen in Wellington on the 28th ultimo.

Wellington. —Harry Vincent Westbury, 75, Molesworth Street, reports supposed stolen, on the 3rd ultimo, a gentlemen’s Hikok bicycle, black frame, back wheel buckled through accident, left crank plated, right not plated, dropped handle-bars, number unknown ; value, £lO. Wellington South. —Frederick Ralph, olerk, reports stolen from off his horse between the 28th and 31st ultimo, a nearly new canvas horse-cover, patoh on one side, leather crupper, breast-strap and two belly-bands ; value, £l. Identifiable.

Clyde Quay (Wellington).— James Rod, butcher, reports that, between 11 p.m. Ist and 9 a.m. 2nd instant, his shop was broken into, and an attempt made to burst open the safe by inserting dynamite in the keyhole connected with about 2 ft. of fuse.

Nelson. — Charles Kirkwood is charged on warrant with the theft, between the 24th July, 1900, and 3rd May, 1901, of £63 16s. Bd., moneys of Fell and Atkinson, solicitors, Nelson. Offender was employed as clerk, and collected the money at different times and failed to account for it. Description : Colonial, eighteen years of age, about 5 ft. lOin. high, slight build, dark complexion and hair, full red face, no hair on face ; dressed in dark sao suit. Supposed to have left Nelson on the 29th ultimo to seek employment in Wellington.

Chbistchubch. —Kenneth Matheson, draper, Victoria Street, reports stolen from his shop-door on the 30th ultimo a dark-green single-breasted Chesterfield overcoat, five buttons in front: value, £1 ss. Identifiable.

Lincoln. —Karl Kippenberger, school-teacher, reports stolen at the school room, Ladbrooks, between the 31st ultimo and 2nd instant, two fawn-coloured stirrup-leathers, holes numbered from one to ten, two nickel stirrup-irons, small size, and a white web saddle-girth : value, £l.

Ashbubton. —William John Boyd, labourer, Belfast, reports stolen from Thomas's auction rooms, on the 21st December last, a farm dray, medium size, sides painted blue, yellow wheels, No. 220 on inside of dray : value, £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion attaches to a man, name unknown, who represented that he had been sent for the cart. Description :

About twenty-five years of age, 5 ft. 3 in. high, clean-shaved except small dark moustache, dark complexion; dressed in dark-tweed suit, soft dark-felt hat. Identification doubtful.

Dunedin.— Between 6.30 p.m., 30th, and 7.30 a.m., 31st ultimo, the shop of Herbert, Haynes, and Co., drapers, Princes Street, was broken into, the safe burst open with dynamite, and £7O in gold, £43 supposed in £1 notes, and £23 in silver, stolen. Entrance was obtained through a window in the girl’s workroom; a large safe in the front of the premises was taken in a truck to a room at the back, and rugs placed round it to deaden the sound of explosion. A watch, brooches, and jewellery were left behind. Nothing identifiable taken. A small American drilling-maohine, a screw-driver, and a bicyole spanner were found beside the safe.

Abeowtown. —Alfred Henry Smith reports supposed stolen from a chest of drawers in an outhouse near his dwelling in Whiteohapel Fiat, between the 20th and 28th ultimo, a £5 note and eight £1 notes, all on the Bank of New Zealand; numbers unknown. Suspicion attached to William Clark, a native of New Zealand, a miner and stonemason ; about twenty-six years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. high, medium build, dark oomplexion, dark-brown hair, moustache only; dressed in dark-tweed suit and soft black-felt hat.
