Bega.— George Robinson and Arthur Williams, charged with committing a rape on Norah Ball (fourteen), at Sandy Greek, near Wyndham, have been arrested by Senior Sergeant Moss and Constable Blagrave, Bega and Wyndham police. Both committed for trial at Central Criminal Court, Sydney. Bail allowed—each £3OO and two sureties of £l5O each. And George Robinson, further charged with aiding and abetting the said Arthur Williams to commit rape on the said Norah Ball: also committed for trial at Central Criminal Court. George Robinson was further charged with aiding and abetting Joseph Twyford and Robert Twyford to commit the crime of rape on the said Norah Ball: remanded. Warrants have been issued by the Bega Bench for the arrest of Joseph and Robert Twyford. They absconded to evade arrest, and were traced to Victoria, where they shipped for New Zealand ports (via Hobart) on the 9th instant. Arrest very important. (See Police Gazette, 1900, page 377.)
