(See Police Gazette, 1900, page 148.) Pukekohe. —Theft of Smith Ingham’s clothing: The offender, Edward Stokes, has been arrested for this offence by Constable T. O’Grady, Waiuku police, and sentenced to one month’s hard labour ; shirt only recovered.

Te Awamutu. —Herbert Ernest Ford, schoolmaster, reports stolen from his clothes-line, on the 2nd or 3rd instant, Bix nearly new black-knitted football jerseys, leather facings, with eyelets ; value, £2 6s. 6d.

Te Awamutu. Charles Thomas McFarlane, Methodist minister, reports stolen from his stable, between the Ist and 3rd instant, a gentlemen’s nearly new saddle, one knee-pad darker than the other, two white-cotton girths, steel stirrupirons, and a new single-rein bridle ; value, £2 10s.

Levin. —Wan You, grocer, reports stolen between Wellington and Levin, on the 28th or 29ch ultimo, three bags No. 2 white sugar, bags marked W Y over L with blue paint; value, £1 4s.

Wellington. —Henry Fielder, Manners Street, reports that on the 10th or 11th instant his shop was broken into, and the following sto’en: A black hand-bag, containing a large pair of pincers, two upholsterers' hammers (“ Denholm ’’ on one of them), a large and a small pair of she .rs, a two-foot boxwood rule, two canvas knives (one crooked in leather sheath), two clasp-knives (one with woud and the other with metal handle), a pair of 6 in. compasses, three files, some circular needles, and some steel skewers; the property of Edwin Howlett: total value, £2 10s.

Wellington. —Emanuel Diamant, traveller for Butterworth Bros., Christchurch, reports stolen on s.s. “Rotorua,” between Picton and Wellington, on the 29th or 30th ultimo, a brown ribbed waterproof with velvet collar and cape, and a pair of ribbed grey Shetland wool drawers ; value, £3 ss.

Wellington. —Harry Andrews, coach proprietor, Auckland, reports stolen from the s.s. “ Mararoa ” at We lington Wharf, about the 28t,h May last, a grey slate-coloured tweed sac-coat, “ John Todd, Otahuhu ” on tab, value £4 ; a lightbrown alpine hat, size 6§ ; and a pair of opera-glasses, value £4.

Wyndham Byrne are charged with this offence by Detectives R. Neill and C. R. Broberg, Wellington police. They are now serving sentences in the Wellington Prison (see Police Gazette, 1900, page 148). Jane Ann Byrne, alias Miss La Peru, has also been arrested by the above-named detectives for this offence; and remanded.

Nelson.—A. P. Lucas, journalist, reports that between the 30th ultimo and 2nd instant the office of the Nelson Evening Mail was broken into, and £l, consisting of a florin and about six threepenny-pieces, stolen.

R. Broberg, and discharged; the witnesses failed to identify him.

Kurow. —Donald Cameron, labourer, reports stolen from a shed, between the 29th June and 2nd ultimo, fifteen hundred first-class and three hundred second-class rabbitskins; the latter have been injured by hawks ; they were all tied up in bundles of ten : value, £ls.

Dunedin. — R. Anderson (name supposed fictitious) is charged on warrant with having, on the 28th ultimo, stolen from Bennett Charles Lowry, lithographer, Castle Street, a gentlemen's bicycle (since recovered); value, £2O. Offender is about twenty-four years of age, about sft. 8 in. high, medium build, sallow complexion.no hair on face; dressed in dark clothes. The bicycle was stolen from the Dunedin Cycle Club-rooms, and pawned at R. Marks’s by a man who gave the above name.

St. Bathan’s. —Mrs. Peacock, storekeeper, Ophir, reports stolen, on the 28th or 29th June, 79 yards flannelette, 49 yards flannel, and a reel of black button-hole twist (since recovered), 15 yards Bengaline dress material, two pieces of black-satin ribbon, j lb. four-ply Baldwin black fingeringwool, a pair of child’s tan shoes with two straps, and two white shirts, sizes 15 and 15£; total value, £lO 18s. 2d.

Gore. —Ernest Schotz, traveller, Mutual Buildings, Wellington, reports stolen, on the 18th ultimo, a brief-bag, containing a brown travelling-cap, a suit of pyjamas, a case of white-nandled razors (maker Johnston), a tin of Dandy cigarettes, a book “ Under Two Standards,” and a number of letters ; total value, £1 17s,

McGrath concealed at the Bluff in a sugar bag: A soupladle, a gravy-spoon, two gravy-ladles, twelve small and twentv-four large forks, eighteen table-, eighteen desert-, and thirteen tea-spoons, a gold necklet made of Charles the Second watch-caps, a plain gold bracelet; two gold safety-pin brooches, greenstone hearts; a tiny brooch, with hair; gold-bar brooch, with gold shamrock; a gentlemen’s silver and gold, and a ladies’gold, watch; a child’s locket, silver filagree locket; travelling clock, Russian leather ; gold cross, with garnets; st coral necklace and two gold lockets, one set with turquoise. There was also found in the bag a gold pin set with a dull diamond, an imitation gold pin set with coral, a broken bracelet of polished stones set in silver, and a bar greenstone brooch (silver mounted).
