John Powell is inquired for by the Hamilton police with the view of serving him with a copy of an order to pay 7s. a week to his wife. Description : A native of Tasmania, a blacksmith, thirty-three years of age, about 5 ft. 6 in. high, slight build, sharp features, fair complexion, fair hair whiskers beard and moustache, grey eyes. Last seen at Hamilton on the 7th August, 1899, and is supposed to have gone to New South Wales.

John Algoth Oliver Bostrom is inquired for by the Dunedin police. Description : A Swede, a labourer or seaman, thirty-nine years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, medium build, round features, dark-brown hair, reddish-brown whiskers sometimes. cut fairly close all round ; single. He was for some time employed as a wharf-labourer at Wellington, but left there in April last, saying he was going to the South Island. Inquiry is made on behalf of his mother in Sweden, through Captain C. F. Sundstrom, Arthur Street, Dunedin.

John Duncan i 3 inquired for by the Dunedin police. Description : A native of New Zealand, a slaughterman, thirty-one years of age, about 5 ft. 11 in. high, dark-brown hair, shaved except fair moustache, fresh complexion ; dressed in dark clothes, and felt hat. Last heard of at Balclutha on the Bth August, 1899. Inquiry is at the instance of Elizabeth Douglas, of Green Island, with whom he has been living, and with the view of compelling him to support his four illegitimate children by her.
