IN exercise of the power and authority conferred by section five of “ The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1895,” and pursuant to a recommendation made in this behalf by the Colonial Secretary of the Colony, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that no native pigeon shall be sold within the Nelson District, consisting of the Counties of Waimea and Collingwood, for a period of one year, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine. As witness the hand of Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly appointed Deputy, this twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine. Feilding and District Acclimatisation District defined. RANFURLY, Governor. IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by-“ The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint those parts of the said colony described in the Schedule hereto to be a district under the said “Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and I do further appoint such district to be known as “ The Feilding and District Acclimatisation District.”

SCHEDULE. Feilding and District Acclimatisation District. All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north by the Kawhatau and Pourangaki Streams from the Rangitikei River to the summit of the Ruahine Range: thence towards the east generally by the summit of that range to the Manawatu Gorge, and by the

Manawatu River to the Raukawa Road: thence towards the south generally by that road, which forms the northeastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 455 and 454, Block VIII., Kairanga Survey District, to the Palmerston-Ashhurst Road; thence by that road to Stony Creek Road; thence by that road and the railway-line to the Oroua River; thence by that river to Awahuri; and thence by the Awahuri-Bull’s Road to the Rangitikei River: and towards the north-west generally by the Rangitikei River to the Kawhatau Stream aforesaid. As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine. J. CARROLL.
