Escaped Prisoner.
Wellington. —Joseph Mason Foggon escaped from the hard-labour gang at Mount Cook Prison during the afternoon of the 9th instant. Description : A native of Tasmania, a bricklayer, twenty-eight years of age, sft. Bfin. high, strong build, sallow complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, whiskers beard and moustache clipped short, large mouth, heavy lower jaw, moles on bridge of nose right shoulder and bend of left arm, large scar on right shin, smart appearance; dressed in a plain suit, trousers too small. He was undergoing a sentence of seven years for housebreaking.
