(From Gazette, 1895, pages 84, 131, 132, 133, 187, and 188.) Fixing Shooting Season for Deer, License-fee, etc., Nelson District. GLASGOW, Governor. By his Deputy, JAMES PRENDERGAST. IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “ The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that red deer stags and fallow deer bucks may be taken or killed within the Nelson District, comprising the Counties of Waimea, Buller, and Collingwood, from the sixteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninetyfive, to the eighth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Nelson and the Postmaster at Westport are hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of Now Zealand, do hereby notify chat fallow-deer (bucks only) may be taken or killed within the Auckland District, consisting of the Auckland Provincial District, excepting the Counties of Cook, Waiapu, Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane, East Taupo, and Wairoa, and excepting also the Islands of Kawau and Motutapu, from the first day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned); and I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of forty shillings each, and no holder of any such license as aforesaid shall kill more than ten bucks under or by virtue of such license; and the Chief Postmaster, Auckland, is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. Altering Boundaries of Districts under “ The Supreme Court Act, 1883.” GLASGOW, Governor. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of January, 1895. Present: His Excellency the Governor in Council. WHEREAS by section twenty of “The Supreme Court Act, 1882 ” (hereinafter termed “ the said Act ”), it is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time, for the purposes of the said Act, divide the colony into districts, and alter the limits of such districts from time to time as occasion may require : And whereas by an Order in Council bearing date the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, and made under the provisions of the said Act, the limits of the Westland and Nelson Districts were altered and redefined:

And whereas it is expedient to further alter the limits of the said Westland and Nelson Districts: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby alter the limits of the Westland and Nelson Districts so defined as aforesaid, and doth hereby declare that from and after the first day of April next the limits of the said districts shall, for the purposes of the said Act, be those respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE. Westland. All that area bounded towards the north generally by Col lingwood County; towards the south-east generally by the Counties of Waimea and Inangahua to the Duller River; thence towards the north-east by a right line to Mount Humboldt; again towards the south-east by Amuri County to the Hurunui Saddle, and by the summit of the Southern Alps to Mount Aspiring; towards the south-west by a right line thence to the mouth of Awarua River; and towards the north-west generally by the ocean. Nelson. All that area bounded towards the north and east generally by the sea ; towards the south generally by the Clarence River to Lake Tennyson, and thence by a right line to Mount Humboldt ; and towards the west generally by a right line to the point at which the south-eastern boundary of Buller County intersects the right bank of the Buller River, thence by the said Buller County and by the sea.
