(From Gazette, 1893, page 250.) Chicago. Herbert G. Nichols is charged with having embezzled large sums in Chicago, Cook County, State of Illinois, United States of America. Description : Forty-two or forty-five years of age, sft. lOin. high, walks erect with a military gait, 1551 b. to 1601 b. weight, iron-grey hair (generally cut short), iron-grey moustache and imperial (which may be shaved off), bald on top of head, rather thin features, low voice, sharp, keen look out of his eyes; very reticent and reserved, and somewhat unapproachable; drinks and smokes, and is very gentlemanly ; dresses well, and frequently wears a red- or bright-coloured scarf ; is a great admirer of athletic sports, such as boxing, wrestling, &c., and is also a great dog-fancier.
