Port Albert (Auckland). —Stealing from the dwelling of Thomas Walsh, Tauhoa : The 1.0. U. for £2l is signed by Joseph Buckton, farmer, Tauhoa, and the one for £2 by Charles Peterson, of Wharehine.

Auckland. —Miss Augusta Sinclair, Richmond Road, Ponsonby, reports stolen from her bedroom, on the 7th instant, a ladies’ gold open-faced watch, maker Neil, Donegal Place, Belfast, MS inside back case ; a gold guard, cablepattern, about 3ft. long ; and a ladies’ gold dress-ring, having the word “Regard ” formed with a ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby, and diamond, and surrounded by pearls: value, £27.

Auckland. James Wiseman Wilkie, Anchor House, Grafton Road, reports stolen from his bedroom, on the 7th instant, a silver Geneva open-faced watch, number unknown, silver dial, gilt figures ; attached was a long gold chain, a gold medal of the Stirlingshire Rifle Volunteers, engraved “ J. Wilkie,” two small gold seals, and a brass watch-key ; also a gentlemen’s large gold ring, set with a large amethyst and twenty-five pearls, “J. Wilkie” and a date inside: value, £25.

Auckland. —Mrs. Louis Mayer, St. Mary’s Road, Ponsonby, reports stolen from her bedroom between the 7th and 14th instant, a gentlemen’s gold watch-chain, round links, several bars across ; a ladies’ silver lever open-faced watch, maker and number unknown ; a pair of gold earrings, oblong shape, fringe around ends ; a gold sleeve-link ; a plain gold wedding-ring, cracked ; and 2s. 6d. in silver: total value, £6 10s. Gd.

Auckland. —James Smallwood, at Mr. Jackson’s, Vincent Street, reports stolen from him in Auckland on the 13th instant two letters bearing the postmark of San Francisco, and Oakland, California, respectively. One of them contained a draft on the Bank of New Zealand for about 300 dollars, the payment of which has been stopped.

Auckland. —Robert Rew, grocer, Victoria Street, reports that, between 8.15 p.m. on the 3rd and 7.50 a.m. on the 4th instant, his shop was broken into, and a crossed cheque for £BO Bs. 9d. (since found outside), and £3O 17s. 4d. in notes, gold, and silver stolen from the safe. The thief first broke into complainant’s dwelling at College Hill, and abstracted from his trousers-pocket a ring of five keys, one of them marked “ Midland Safe Company, Birmingham, 135.”

Auckland. —Frederick George Clayton, commission agent, Carlton Gore Road, Newmarket, reports stolen from his dwelling on the 11th instant a gold ring, Masonic emblem on stone ; a ladies’ ring set with five diamonds; one ditto with three stones (one missing); a gold brooch, shell-pattern, large pearl in centre ; and two ladies’ gold necklets, one rather thin, chain-pattern, the other without a catch : value, £25 12s.

Aratapu. —Dominick Stollf, Arapohue, reports stolen from his whare, on the 13th instant, a sack of first-class scraped gum ; value, £7. Sack nearly new, and branded DS.

Wellington. —Charles Campbell, watchmaker, Ghuznee Street, reports that, about 2 a.m. on the 11th instant, his shutters were removed, a plate-glass window smashed, and the following watches stolen: Two gentlemen’s gold

open-faced, one gentlemen’s gold hunting, two ladies’ gold open-faced, one ladies’ gold hunting, one large English silver horizontal open-faced, maker Arnold ; one silver lever hunting, makers Stewart, Dawson, and Co.; three silver Waltham hunting, and about twenty other watches which cannot be described. Each watch has the initials CC scratched inside the case. Value, £IOO. Suspicion is attached to William Potter and George King. Description : First, Irish, a seaman, forty-one years of age, sft. 6fin. high, dark complexion, dark hair turning grey, grey eyes, long thin nose, top off third right finger. Second, a colonial, twenty-five or twenty-six years of age, sfd. lOin. high, medium build, red hair, sandy moustache only, active appearance; wears a dark-tweed suit and soft brown-felt hat.

Wellington. —Henry Toft, Wadestown, reports stolen from an unfinished house in Tinakori Road, on the 13th or 14th instant, a table-saw ; hammer; four chisels (l§in., lin., gin., and ; a twisted bit, gin. (maker, Gilpin) ; three ditto, gin., gin., and gin. respectively ; five German ditto, various sizes ; and an iron plane : value, £1 4s. Some of the tools are marked “ H. Toft.”

Ngahauranga (Wellington). George Waddington, White Horse Hotel, reports stolen from his bar, on the 18th instant, six £1 notes, four half-sovereigns, about 10s. in silver, and three silver penny-pieces with holes in each rim.

Foxton. —Euphemia Mcllvride, Manawatu Hotel, reports stolen from her bedroom, on the 3rd or 4th instant, a darkgreen purse, violets on flaps, and EC scratched on clasp, containing £3 15s.

Blenheim.— Rose Skelly reports stolen from her room at Wong Lee’s on the Bth instant a new maroon-serge dress, and a pair of drab-coloured stays, medium size ; value, £3.

Dunedin. —Charlotte Weir, secondhand dealer, Moray Place, reports that on the 16tli instant her house was broken into, and the following stolen : About £SO in gold, silver, and notes; a ladies’ gold Geneva hunting-watch, maker and number unknown; two ladies’ gold chains, long links ; a pair of gold earrings ; two ladies’ gold diamond rings ; and a ladies’ gold ring, the stone of which is missing: total value, £65. Identifiable except cash.

Dunedin. —James Kirkland, farmer, Saddle Hill, reports that on the 16th instant his dwelling was broken into, and a Martini-Henry rifle, number unknown, value £3 Is., stolen.

Riverton. —Morgan Hayes, auctioneer, reports that between the 15th and 17th instant his store was broken into, and the following stolen : Two pairs of ladies’ elastic-side boots, size 3; two pairs children’s ditto, size 11; a singlereined bridle, nickel-plated bit, white forehead-band; 111 b. ♦ of rabbitskins ; a small five-chambered revolver; an alarm clock; pair of coloured moleskin trousers; four whitestriped dungaree shirts; two leather straps; four pairs of women’s stockings; a pocket-knife; one dozen braces; four wooden pipes, branded “ Chumie ”; a brass watch-chain ; and a girl’s brass neck-chain : value, £5 18s.
