Saddle and bridle still missing. ..<***' j tfu Mercer (Waikato). — Charles Pope, Pokeno Valley, reports stolen, on the 24th or 25th ultimo, a dark-bay heavydraught gelding, aged, about 17 hands high, brand (if any) unknown, lump about the size of an egg on off side of belly; value £2O. Slight suspicion is attached to Henry Baston, formerly of the Ivohimarama Industrial School, and recently licensed to complainant. His time expired on the 23rd ultimo, and he has gone to Remuera, Auckland.

Hamilton (Waikato). —William Frederick Bell reports stolen, on the 28th June last, a well-bred chestnut hackmare, by “ Feve,” six years old, about 15 hands high, branded WB (conjoined) on near shoulder, off fore foot white, a few’ white hairs on forehead; value £lO. Suspicion attached to Albert Middleton, seventeen years of age, sft. sin. or 6in. high, medium build, dark complexion and hair, one finger missing. Suspect was seen at Rangiriri on the above date riding (on a cushion) a mare answering description of the one stolen, and is supposed to have gone to Auckland. He is brother to William Middleton. (See Police Gazette, 1890, page 138.) His father is said to reside at Mount Eden, Auckland.
