Christchurch.— Michael Ford is charged on warrant with having, on the 18th ultimo, forged and uttered to Patrick McSwecny, licensee, Grosvenor Hotel, a cheque for £ls 10s., purporting to be signed by E. J. T. Ford, of Riccarton, for whom offender stated he had been working. Description: Supposed a native of Christchurch, a saddler, about twenty-four years of age, about sft. lOin. high, medium build, stoops slightly, fresh complexion, brown hair, sandy moustache only ; dressed in brown saddle-tweed suit and soft grey-felt hat; associates with thieves, spielers, and prostitutes. He left by the 5.20 p.m. train on the 19th instant, in the direction of Ashburton.
