ONSLOW, Governor. ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this first day of February, 1592. Present: The Honourable the Premier presiding in Council. ~Y"Y THERE A S an Order in Council prohibiting the export V V from the colony of all oysters known as Ostrea purpurea, Ostrea glomerata, Ostrea mordax, or the rock, shore, drift, or mangrove oysters, or by whatever name they may be locally known, taken or produced in the waters of the colony, was made under the powers conferred by “The Fisheries Encouragement Act, 1885,” on the sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 77, of the fifteenth day of the same month : And whereas it is desirable to revoke so much

of the said Order in Council as prohibits the exportation of shore oysters or mangrove oysters : Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by “ The Fisheries Encouragement Act, 1885,” and of all other authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby revoke so much of the said Order in Council of the sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, as prohibits the exportation from the colony of shore oysters or mangrove oysters. Inspectors of Weights and Measures appointed, Hobson, Otamatea, and Butler Counties.

Colonial Secretary’s Office, Wellington, 3rd February, 1892. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Sergeant Percy Frederick Carlyon to be an Inspector of Weights and Measures, under “The Weights and Measures Act, 1868,” and the Acts amending the same, for the Counties of Hobson and Otamatea, vice Constable Carr; also to appoint Sergeant William Emerson to be an Inspector of Weights and Measures, under the said Acts, for the County of Buller and Borough of Westport, vice Sergeant White. Black Swans to be Game in Wairarapa.

ONSLOW, Governor. -YTTHEREAS by a notification dated the eighth day of V V December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eleventh day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, it was declared that black swans should cease to be within the operation of “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” within the Colony of New Zealand: And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said notification so far as the operation thereof obtains within the Counties of Wairarapa North and Wairarapa South: Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and its amendments (hereinafter termed “ the said Acts”), do hereby declare that within the Counties of Wairarapa North and Wairarapa South as constituted under “ The Counties Act, 1886,” black swans (Cygnns atratus) shall, from and after the date hereof, come within the operation of the said Acts as fully and effectually as if they had never been withdrawn from such operation. IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “ The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, William ITillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that deer (bucks or stags only) may be taken or killed within the Nelson District, comprising the Counties of Waimea, Buller, and Collingwood, from the twentieth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninetytwo, to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned); and I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Nelson and the Postmaster at Westport are hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.
