The sum of £5 has been awarded by the Postal-Telegraph Department to Constable D. Gordon, Whangarei Police, in recognition of his tact and vigilance in arresting B. D. O’Halloran, sentenced to three years’ penal servitude for embezzling moneys of the department. (91/800.)

The sum of £1 has been awarded to Constable T. J. McCormack, Lyttelton Police, for placing refractory firemen on board the s.s. “ Tainui.” (91/989.)

The sum of 10s. has been awarded by the Customs Department to Constable T. R. W. Philpotts, Reefton Police, re conviction of S. Monteith for a breach of “ Tlio Beer Duty Act, 1880.” (91/1010.)

Constables W. Watt and W. J. Simpson, Lincoln and Leeston Police, have been awarded £2 10s. each from the Reward Fund, and special mention in their merit-sheets, in recognition of their services in the detection and conviction of E.
