The sum of 10s. has been awarded to Constable F. S. Parker, Tapanui Police, by Mr. William Aitken, of Dunedin, for the recovery of a dog lost by him. (1688/90.)
The sum of £2 each has been awarded to Constables Luke McDonnell, Edward Mackay, Thomas Ward, and William Mathieson, Auckland Police, for the arrest of four absentees from the United States warship “Mohican.” (1699/90.)
The sum of £1 has been awarded by the Customs Department to Constable A. E. Remer, Pembroke Police, for services rendered in securing the conviction of Elizabeth Knowles, of Cardrona, for breach of the Beer Duty Act. (1715/90.)
The sum of £3 has been awarded to Sergeant S. Moller, Hokitika Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the detection and prosecution of Catherine Ryan, fined £lO and costs for sly grog-selling at Ross. (1733/90.)
Tiie sum of £5 has been awarded by the Westland Education Board to Acting Sergeant D. Hannan, Stafford Police, in recognition of his bringing to justice the delinquents who broke several largo windows at the Goldsborough school. (1734/90.)
The sum of £3 3s. has been awarded by the Canterbury Acclimatisation Society to Constable John Dillon, Christchurch Police, in recognition of his services rendered in connection with the detection and prosecution of Hodinott and Self, fined £2O for illegally killing trout. (1740/90.)
The sum of £5 ss. has been awarded to Constable Benjamin O’Brien, Wellington Police, by Messrs. Sargood, Son, and Ewen, in recognition of his services in connection with the arrest of William Montague and Martin Burns, sentenced at the Supreme Court to two years’ labour each for breaking and entering their warehouse. (1743/90.)
