John Ballam is charged, on warrant issued by the Balclutha Bench, with disobeying an order of Court to pay 7s. per week towards the support of his illegitimate male-child by Jane Carson. Description: English, a fireman, until recently employed as a stoker on the Kaitangata Company’s locomotive, twenty-three years of age, sft. 4in. high, stout build, full pale face, light-coloured hair and moustache; dressed in dark-tweed coat and light-coloured trousers. He left the Bluff on the 16th ultimo by the steamer “Tarawera” for Melbourne.

William Murray, alias Burnside, is charged, on warrant issued by the Christchurch Bench, with having, on the 20tli ultimo, at Christchurch, assaulted John Crozier. Description : A native of Jersey, a labourer, twenty-eight years of age, sft. s|in. high, slight build, fresh complexion, dark hair, large broken nose. (See Police Gazette , 1890, page 59.) He was summoned for the offence, but he did not appear.

Henry Clarkson is charged, on warrant issued by the Christchurch Bench, with disobeying an order of Court to pay ss. per week towards the support of liis mother. Description: A native of the colony, a labourer, twenty-three years of age, sft. 6Jin. high, slight build, sallow complexion, blue eyes,

aquiline nose, brown hair, clean-shaved except fair moustache. (See Police Gazette , 1889, page 176.) He left Christchurch on the 15th ultimo by train for Lyttelton, and had with him stone-breaking hammers and a black greyhound. He will most likely be employed stone-breaking.
