The sum of £5 lias been awarded by the Customs Department to Constable Alexander Cruickshank, Dunedin Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the prosecution of Wilson and Co., McGavin and Smith, and J. Briggs, for breaches of “ The Beer Duty Act, 1880.”
