Stolen about the 20th ultimo, from the stable of Arthur Poyzer, Wairoa, Hawke’s Baj 7 , a nearly-new saddle with hogskin seat, bottom of off knee-pad repaired with a new piece of leather, flowers worked on gullet, silver stirrup-irons, two

well-worn web girths (one white and the other striped), a nearly-new bridle with white forehead-band with vandyke round it, a small piece off the end of reins, silver buckles; value £7. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to James Lowrey, at present in the employment of Mr. Poyzer. Description : A native of Auckland, about twenty-three years of age, about sft. Bin. or 9in. high, sharp features, small chin and mouth, light-coloured hair, no hair on face. . He purposes shortly visiting his relatives at Henderson’s Mill, Auckland. He has a horse, but no saddle or bridle.

Stolen on the Ist or 2nd instant, from rail way-wagons between Auckland and Morrinsville, a case of whiskey, with “ 11. & Co.” and “ Buchanan & Sons, Ayr,” marked thereon, and addressed “ J. Smith, Hotel, Morrinsville,” value £2 145.; and a case of ginger-wine, marked AIIN, and GW in diamond, addressed “G. Walworth, Tawhare,” value £1 Bs.; the property of the Government. Identifiable. A man, name unknown, was seen stealing the parcel. Description: About twenty years of age, medium height.

Stolen between the 7th and 14th instant, from the stable of A. P. Webster, Patea, a hogskin saddle, one of knee-pads worn through, one of stirrup-leathers torn near the buckle, nickle-silver stirrup-irons, and a leather-girth, thongs split at both ends ; value £4. Identifiable.
