Missing Friends.

Special inquiry is requested to be made for Thomas Norton, a native of Ireland, a labourer, about thirty-two years of age, sft. 6in. or 7in. high, medium build, dark complexion, black hair and moustache; wore dirty grey-tweed suit and soft-felt hat. He is the principal witness in the case of the Queen v. Dore and Morgan, robbery with violence, and it is important that his whereabouts should bo ascertained, so that his attendance may be insured at the trial. He left Oamaru on the 2nd ultimo.

Information is requested respecting August Requile, who arrived in this colony by the steamer “ Coptic ” in November, 1885. He is inquired for at the instance of the Belgian Consul, Wellington.

Information is requested respecting Robert Scott, a native of Canada, a cook, forty years of age, sft. 7£in. high, slight active build, dark-brown hair, light-hazel eyes, large nose, round chin, scar on nose, small wen over left eyebrow ; fond of drink. He was at Nelson on the 11th August last. It is believed he was employed as cook at Martinborough Station, and may be known to the Martinborough Police. He is known to Mr. Granville, hotelkeeper, Upper Hutt.

Information is requested respecting John Graham, a native of Armagh, Ireland, fifty years of age, 6ft. lin. or 2in. high, stout build, between 13st. and 14st. weight, fair hair, light sandy whiskers (not of heavy growth), high cheekbones, large flat feet. He was known by his acquaintances in Melbourne as “ Big Jack.” He left Melbourne about twenty-five years ago for this colony, and may now be employed as a miner or farmer. He has four sisters and two brothers in Victoria, viz., Lucinda, Catherine, Hannah, Ann Eliza, James, and Thomas, who arc anxious to know whether he is living or dead.

Information is requested respecting Robert Moyes, who is said to be in an hospital about thirty miles from Auckland. He is inquired for at the instance of his brother, R. B. Moyes, San Leandro, Alameda County, California, U.S. A.

Information is requested respecting Patrick Begley, a native of the North of Ireland, a labourer, thirty years of age, sft. 6£in. high, stout build, sandy complexion, brown hair, mark of cut between nose and forehead. He was found guilty of larceny at the Supreme Court, Oamaru, on the 6th September last, and released on probation for six months, and ordered to pay ss. per week to the Probation Officer at Oamaru towards the cost of the prosecution, but he has failed to pay the amount, and now owes the sum of £3 10s., and has also failed to report himself. He was seen about six weeks ago at St. Andrew, and is supposed to have gone towards Timaru. If found, please inform the Inspector of Police, Oamaru, of liis whereabouts.

Information is requested respecting William Strew, a ware-house-porter when in England, about thirty-three years of age, tall, fair florid complexion. He left London about January, 1874, by the ship “Golden Sea” for Wellington. Before coining to the colony he resided at Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green, London. Soon after his arrival he joined the Armed Constabulary, and left the force at Wellington on the 24th September, 1885. Inquiry is made for him at the instance of William Strew, 3, Bradbury Street, High Street, Kingsland, London,N.

Information is requested respecting Florence Eliza Ayers, a general servant, twenty-seven years of age, medium height, fair complexion, good-looking. Before coming to the colony she resided at Croydon and London. She left Gravesend in December, 1883 or 1884, for Auckland, and was heard of from there in January, 1886, but she cannot be found there now. She is inquired for at the instance of Thomas Ayers, the New House, Queen’s Road, Croydon, Surrey.
