James Simpson is charged, on warrant issued by the Oamaru Bench, with deserting his wife and two children, at Livingstone, since the 21st ultimo. Thomas Cleghorn is charged, on warrant issued by the Hampden Bench, with failing to provide his wife and throe children with adequate means of support, at Hampden, since the 22nd December last. Description : English, a saddler, about forty years of age, sft. 6in. or 7in.high, stout build, fresh complexion, auburn hair, reddish beard whiskers and moustache ; dressed in dark coat, grey-tweed trousers and vest, and hard black-felt hat. He drives a trap covered with white calico through the country, and was last heard of going towards Cromwell. He is well known in the Naseby and Wanaka Districts.

He is supposed to have left Dunedin on the 31st ultimo, and to have gone into the country in search of employment.
