A greenstone cross, mounted with gold, has been awarded by Mr. P. A. Gowring, of the Colonial Bank, to Sergeant William McLeod, Queenstown Police, in recognition of the expeditious manner in which he organized a search-party when it was supposed that Mr. Gowring was lost in the ranges.
